Grats Alla on the 10th anniversary.

I remember exactly the first time I looked at your site (aren't I sad!!!) I started playing in 2000 just before Kunark was released. My druid, Renaissance, on Zek was around lvl 15 when I was given by Glazed an 'Evil Eye Lens' and told it was used in a great druid quest, but he did not know exactly what quest. I did a web search and came across your site and it helped me to obtain my very first quested item from a loot (which was not my guildmaster's armor quests). I was truly proud of my staff, at the time it was a great item, and rare as the lens did not drop a lot (have never seen it drop myself and spend a considerable time in RE).

Since then weapons have come and gone but I still have my staff of the observers in the bank, sans charges but I just cannot throw it away.

So who else can remember when they came across this site for the first time? Anyone been around that long, and still here?

I actually remember using www.everlore.com first

One of my first searches was about the Paw of Oppula quest
and where to get all the rings.
I didn't have to camp the one in guk because a necro friend
gave it to me.
I played on Rallos Zek too. I was Scyros Windchaser, a wood elf
druid.

I had been playing EQ for two days, and was still being absolutely blown away.

I asked a guy I was grouped with for the second time now, how he knew all of the things he was telling us. He pointed me to Alla's, and continued trying to explaining to the group what jobs we should have been doing while we were getting our corpses.

We finished getting our corpses, and when we attacked the throne room in Crushbone for the second time, things went much better, and we held the camp for the next few hours. He quit playing shortly after that, but I still have his email address, and will never forget that experience. I remember thinking he must work for Verant.

I played from April 1999 but the idea of "spoiler sites" was not well known to me. I must have played for months before ever visiting a site.

I actually heard the word "Alla" in game several times before I looked for the site myself.

It is interesting to note that when I did finally find it, I did not "Google" it. Nobody used Google back then.

The sites I remember visiting early on were:

Allakhazam
Castersrealm
Everlore
EQAtlas
Graffe's
and Norrath Walker, the famous Japanese site that also started in March of 1999.

Man it has been a long time, but I remember looking up a quest in Akanon for a 1hb weapon, I wanna say it was 6/20. Bullsmasher I believe it was. But you could do the quest fairly quickly and sell them good in the East commons tunnel. I remember it being a nightmare trying to figure it out until a friend suggested Allakhazam. Ever since then they have been on my friends list and that has been a LONG time ago.

Its hard to belive the site and the game has reached 10years.. it feels like only yesterday I was playing in BETA... it took me about month or 2 before I realized this site existed..And i fisted it for its link to an eq humor site (not GU comics) that used to exist on (I belive everlore) but that was ages ago.. I also frequented the lore forums... never really started using it for quest info untill kunark... Man I wish the site was still free.... I just cant afford to spend the money to make it a paid subscription to Alla's or I would...

Having started a mage first I was directed to castersrealm as my first site.
I then saw Allakhazam by a link from eqatlas and turned to it more and more. I still have about 4 notebook binders of quests and lore that I downloaded so I didn't have to tab out of game.

I still have the three 3" binders with all the maps from EQAtlas printed out. Many of them are bookmarked and covered in notes!
Great camp here ---->X
Take this path ....
Raid tank here ----->T
Healers here ----->H
DPS here ----->D
Mob X spawns every 22 minutes.
etc.
etc.

Allakhazam spell sheets also fill a portion of a binder. It was the best way to keep track of all the spells I had and what they did at the time.

The binders also have quest sheets and walkthroughs and printouts for specific items of interest.

From the first day I played EQ, I was fully informed about Alla's and EQAtlas and searching for all the little trinkets of info that were spread all over the web.

I am thankful for all the hard work and effort put forth, both by the players and the site owners, to provide such places for everyone to enjoy.

10 Years of heartfelt Thanks!

Started playing in year 2000!
Man.. its 10 years anniversay now! I never imagine EQ to have last so long and still kicking hard. Quitted EQ and back again, still fun.
My first char was a necro. I love the days hunting at EC near tunnel. First torch, second torch, third torch wouldn't be stranger to most of you all i bet. 'Want to sell all on me'.... Isn't it great to have baz now? Can't imagine people auctioning all the heroic stats out like that on one item itself... faint. Well, and that human npc... Lina or Rina Lightshadow who will wipe all evil faction peeps in the tunnel. Killing Shady was like the fun thing too.

I stopped necro and made a Shammy after that. I remember asking someone for Sow and he told me that Feet like Cat actually buffs like Sow... and i even believed him..... grrr.

I still kept some old world stuffs. Couldn't bear to destroy them!
