Stoneroot Hotzone camp?Follow

#1 Mar 06 2009 at 3:08 AM Rating: Decent
I have a 67 monk/shm duo team I use with a CLR merc. Where is a good place for me to set up camp in this zone to pull safely to, and also has a zone out nearby where I can run my SHM to if I get into trouble?

Stoneroot is a Hotzone, but I can't seem to find a decent camp spot, thanks.

You can camp down by the waterfall near the quest giver NPC's. From there you can pull witheran's or the squid guys.

Another spot is the entrance to 69.1.

In both spots however there is a chance you'll catch some roaming witherans. They all over the damn place.

Another possible spot is inside the drachnid area. Go through the "entrance" to the city and hang a left. There is an alley type area that is safe to pull drachnids to.

There is no quick zone out in stoneroot. Unless you wanted to camp right at the zone line from Undershore...but your pulls would get very very long and probably not be worth it.

Just past the coral bog are groups of spiders camps. Be careful when you past the undead hut on the left. Setup camp on on the left wall after you pass the undead hut. You should see 3 spiders directly ahead of you. No matter where you setup at, your going to have a crazy witheran pop right on top of your head eventually. Forgive my monk FD knowledge, but can a monk stay FD with a caster? some of the spiders are casters. Once you break the the spider grouping you should be ok. Pull the ones outside the walls, watch out for the 2 spiders that come through the entrance in the wall. On the far right are the hunter spiders. Leave these alone since they higher level and hit a lot harder. I'm not sure if the spiders bolster each other, but I've seen the undead goons do it. The spiders are great IMO they only hit for like 688 tops.

Monks can FD through spells if they get the stonewall line of aa's. I don't remember if that line of aa's is available at 67. But definitely a must have for monks.

There are better XP spots than the hot zones. If you want to know where the best place for your level is, just send me a PM and I will let you know.

This next part is not against the OP. I just think it is funny that people see hotzones and think that those are the best locations but in all reality they are not most of the time.

Well Stoneroot will probably be tough for that duo/trio to be honest. CoD is your best bet...you could mow through those mobs and be 70-71 in a few hours probably. The key will be finding mobs to kill. Its a small zone and 80+ toons there all the time PL'ing.

The pathing in that zone is so bad you really can't make even short pulls w/o your mob running all over the place and attraction more mobs. Your best bet is to run up to the mobs and fight them where they stand. You will still get some adds but it wont be 5 or 6. I would start off on the bridge right off the zone in from Undershore. Just work your way down.

Ya. CoD is a waste of time. It is always camped and you can't really run around in there w/o aggroing every mob on the way. Try hitting the farm in DSH and joining a group. There seems to always be one there. You wont be able to get the tasks for the really good exp but the sheer mass killing there is great exp in its self.

Yeah, and what's worse is the runners. Unless his shaman is a troll with a regent symbol click (and even if he is), that's going to be a bit of a problem.

CoD, DSH, Sunderock, and Direwind should all be better xp and less hassle (well, cept CoD maybe).
