Ranger - Continuous BowingFollow

#1 Feb 28 2009 at 6:51 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

Someone brought a good question which I was going to ask here. I don't think before I had something that allowed my Ranger to continously Range attack. Is there something? I always put my attack in first slot and range in second.

Keep it simple and step by step since besides my lack of computer skills, I will probably be passing this on to others.

Thanks

make a hotkey called "/autofire" and name it "Range." Use that button insted of the originally provided "Range" attack button and you will be in business.

Just one thing: If you swap targets while you are /autofiring, you will shoot at the new target. Turn off /autoattack, THEN swap targets.

Thanks for that and last night did my truly first guild grouping after 3 1/2 years and it went well because of the auto bowing and you are right, I do need to be careful on switching targets and the auto fire.

One more tip: If you "kill" a destructible, inanimate object with your bow, /autofire will *NOT* turn itself off! The next valid NPC or PC you target will be fired on instantly. Zoiks!

A quick fix for this is to target yourself and hit your /autofire macro and see what response you get. If it says "off" then you are safe to target other things. If it says "on" then press it again.

Keeping this in mind can save you a bit of grief. :)

[EDIT: I assume this /autofire quirk is also true for all other physical ranged attacks like throwing.]
