Necromancer Mercenary?Follow

#1 Feb 25 2009 at 1:04 PM Rating: Decent
So I've decided to make a necromancer. I know that early in the game a merc of either type is fine, but what about later on in the game. Warrior mercs could be good for some extra damage and holding aggro, but a healing merc will keep the pet alive for me. So which do I choose? The mercenaries are free when you buy them at level one so I'd prefer to make a good choice early and not have to buy a new one later.

In short: Whats better a tank merc or a healer merc for a Necromancer?

Personally I wouldn't use a merc with a necro...maybe perhaps in the lower levels but once you start aggro-kiting, all mercs will do is eat half your experience. There may be occasions when you want to pet tank (undead or tight spaces) where a healer merc would help out.

I agree with jr. Necro pets are not tanking type pets and you can't heal the warrior merc. Maybe make a mage if you want the pet power and get a healing merc.

hmmmm.... Never knew that a merc took half of the experience, I guess that makes sense. Thanks for the input guys, I'll probably just keep a healer merc suspended for buffing and rezzing.

I have found that it is sweet to have a Cleric Merc......nice buffs for u and pet.....sweet for rez....great to back up pets in aa/Lt. Blue mass killing...and other benifits. For the most part.....buff me and pet and put it away...just use every couple hrs., but just another benifit. As a kiter, no use for war. Enjoy the mastery of evil; Go Necro!!
