Played EQ from 02-04 than stopped untill i played for 1 month in march 07. Looks like alot has changed since i have last played. I own EQ Titanium edition. I don't have any of the last 5 expansions. Questions are 1.Do you have to get SoD to beable to use mercs 2.Are old world zones worth it anymore to lvl in. Reason i ask is cause a friend is going to join me in EQ from WoW and kind of want to show him all the fun old world zones that i used to lvl up in. 3.Looks like SoD is like my titanium where you get everything. is thier a way to download SoD without all the other xpacs it comes with.

Yes, you must have SoD in order to use Mercs. Old world zones are still a fun and viable way to level up and explore. If you are just interested in leveling quickly, stick to the "hot zones"...which may or may not be what you consider old world zones. SoD is an all-inclusive package. You can't purchase SoD by itself.

Yeah was thinking that from what i was reading but was kind of hoping thier was a way just to buy SoD cause really don't want to spend 39.99 just for a merc. But looks like i'm going to have to if i want the merc.
Seem to read alot since mercs came about people say thier's more people in zones now, i kind of have a hard time believing this one since most people's chars are in the higher end lvl's now. So is that just a load of bull or has people noticed more people in lower to middle lvl zones.
Lol cause as you can tell, i really don't want to spend the $39.99 for SoD cause spent that same amount a few months ago on WoW's new xpac and did it ever suck. Don't want to get burned again.

If you plan to come back for any length of time, you absolutely must get SoD. If however you just want to come back and putter around, maybe do some tradeskills, etc, then use what you have.
It's not just a matter of the latest greates zones; there are a LOT of game-changing new stuff in the past 5 expansions. If the $ per hour you play comes out higher than 1, I'll run nekkid through Pok!

Come join test server you get all expansions, double xp and all vet rewards.
