Can't use that command now ... Follow

Any help with this is much appreciated:

I'm playing my new rogue on Stromm, working on skillups in disarm and pick pickets during combat. Then all of a sudden, I start getting this message when I hit my hot keys -- "can't use that command right now ... "

At the same time, my mouse buttons stop working for selecting mobs/NPCs, looting, etc. The cursor still moves around properly from my mouse.

I tried F12 to deactivate and activate mouse. No change. I exited the world and reentered with the same character and it was working again. Then during a fight, it happened again.

It seemed to happen when I quickly hit Q, 4, Q
(to turn off auto attack, try to pickpocket, then turn on auto attack again)

Ideas?

I'd guess you can't pickpocket because even if you turn off attack, you still have aggro?
Just guessing, all I know about rogues is that they do it from behind.

You can turn off attack and pickpocket with aggro.

The phrase you are seeing could be due to the timer not having refreshed, or there being no traps around to disarm or find.

As a Rogue main who almost always boxes a shaman on the same machine I come across this problem more often than not. I always assumed it was due to lag with the client (?).

Usually it happens most when I pull, Alt Tab to the shaman, malo/slow/debuff, then alt tab to start my discs and cougar maw. All of my hotkeys (backstab, hide, pickpocket, disarm, intimidate, discs, etc...) will lock up for a few seconds before finally working again. This problem seems to only happen at the beginnings of a fight when the most is happening...

Occasionally (a few times in a few hour grind) the problem lasts after the mob is killed, and I can't use my ranged attack to pull, or pop sneak/invis to hide, open doors, whatever. Zoning fixes it, but so does pulling with my shaman instead.

It seems like that error message comes up when several actions are queued. My problems are almost entirely isolated to the newer content (TBS and up). I have no problems in old world content.

I could be way off, but rest assured I have the same problems as well.

Any fix on this?

Maybe try making a hotbutton with a very short /pause between each action.

And something I didn't make clear in OP ... the problem lasted 3 or more minutes after the fight was over ... I couldn't loot mobs or left click to select my next target, etc. and all of my hotbutton keys were incapacitated. Don't know if it would have corrected itself eventually, I hit CTRL-X after about 3 minutes. Will try zoning next time. Still hoping there's a magic key I can use to unstick it (heh) ...

This may seem overly simple, but I had something similar happen the other day and it turned out my shift key was stuck. You never know . . .

Server lag is reason, for PP not workign immediately after turning attack off, you need a /pause 5,/attack off to fix this.

Actually, make a hot key, to do it all. It maybe you're accidentally hitting Ctrl or Alt keys in the process, or another key, that's doing something like bringin up the petition window or something. Or you have the Q key assigned to more than just attack, which is quickly toggling the other function, but taking it a while to complete.

Anyway, do the following in a hotkey:
/pause 3,/attack off
/pause 3,/do #
/pause 3,/attack on

You can add more lines for more skills, and the /do # is the 1-6 on the Abilities page, or 7-0 on the Combat page after melee and ranged attack buttons. Just select the number for the button that has your Pick Pockets skill on it. Also, you can play the /pause 3 lines, and shorten as much as you can, 2 or 3 is probably the minimum, I generally use 4 for Skullduggery skills, but 5 for most other skills.

Hope this helps.

I Just experienced this at the end of a raid after being rezzed. I could not click on anybody with the mouse, rightclick, or use any hotkeys, discs, or clickies. I did not hit any buttons in rapid succession to cause it. Is there a fix for this bug?

No idea if this is related, but I was seeing the same thing with my druid and foraging in early December. I would see the forage button go active (timer was up) and clicking it would give me the message "that ability not available" or something. Would sometimes happen as much as 15 seconds after the button showed it was available. Had no idea what was causing it.

Then over the same time-frame (about 1.5 weeks), I was seeing strangeness in my run speed. Some nights, I would just be crawling, other nights I had basically bard speed. And on the zippy nights, I had no start/stop delay from my mount, even when in combat.

Then I started having huge lag problems. Finally culminated in my DSL totally going down. Turns out, my DSL modem was fried, and I needed a new one.

Since I've had the new one (2 months now), not one laggy night, no weird run speeds or start/stop strageness, and no abilities not available when they ought to be.

I think the issue is one of flakey communication with the server, and if the server suspects there's something hinkey, it disallows the ability.

Anyway, that's my guess. If you're also seeing lots of lag, or general spotiness with your connection, that's my guess as to the cause.
