Congratulations for accomplishing what others have been whining and crying about wanting SoE to create for them.
Simple, Play by your own rules, Lower level, old world zones have very few if any population. You should be successful but temptation will be great knowing all the other items are out there. Hope you are successful in getting enthusiastic players.

Vinney DeWanderer, Zek Human Ranger

I'd try this, but I currently cannot afford to come back...I may be able to on Friday though depending on how much money I get from my two jobs...

If I were online more I would so join. As it is, I'm soloing an ogre warrior through the core lands. I zoned out of Gloomingdeep Mines at level 2 and did all the newbie armor quests in Oggok/Feerrott. At level 9 I went to South Ro to fight orcs, then moved up to crocs. I cheated by using PoK to get bypass Kithicor Forest so I could enter Blackburrow for a while, but then I came back to east coast. I've been fighting lots of undead in North Ro (beat Rahotep four times!) and crocs in South Ro. A level 50 popped in to North Ro one day and let me loot giants' corpses so I have some Fine Steel weapons and some good money in the bank for my level. I'm currenly level 18 and I'm anxious to get into Upper Guk's spider room. I've been in once, but the aggro was too intense so I left to level up a bit. I'll be back in there at level 20, then to go get some Polished Granite Tomahawks and enter Runnyeye. I don't know my plans after that, but it really is fun to take a tour of the old world and get ready for the new server SOE plans to release soon. The only real cheat I employ is using a merc healer because the zones are just too vacant of other players.

Melliania,
Are you looking for people to make a serious time commitment to be part of your core rules group or would you have a friendly hi for casual players who want to try it? To be honest, I'm not sure how I'd get along with these limitations but if I had someone to give me pointers it sounds interesting.

I have 8 characters on Tunare, all but the bazaar mule are in their 50's-60's.

I'm thinking of trying a rogue.

Hi akhuraj

I am a friend of mel in real life and we came up with this core rules idea together. You will be welcomed no matter how much time you can commit to the cause. All are welcome to join the good fight.

Sounds like you are having fun. If you really want to push yourselves, go to Dalnir... arguably the hardest zone in the game for its intended level.

What's the guild's policy about Hot Zones? Stonebrunt Mountains is a Hot Zone right now. Does that make it taboo?

yes we frown up[on hot zones and avoid them, yet another sony invention to control players like mindless sheep and make the game even more of a joke cake walk, in our opinion

we still lookign for our dorf tank, and hobbit rogue

as most of us are veterans of a decade we all have lives and full time jobs and some of us families, there are about 17 of us on GMT and 7 americans using what ever they use, they usually come on about 10pm GMT

best times to catch us are 6pm 1o 11pm GMt weekdaYS and all day saturday 10am til 2am GMT and sunday 10am til 11pm GMT

and american times are 10pM GMt onwards

i find it unlucky that u have missed us all rceently coz Baragund the 2nd in command lev 26 bard just had a week off work 2 weeks ago and was on every day, i had a week off work last week and was on everyday except tuesday, and Grissler (4th in command)lev 40MU alt Gristler (16 Rng) is on every day for like 20 hours heh.

Some ppl are just playing saturdays, some just weekends, some an hour or so a day and some devoting a lot of time to it and already have 2 to 4 core rules toons. Lev range is now 2 to 40s

/autojoin core /join corerules

we are having a great time in the noobie zones, the overthere and highpass and castle mistmoore, the estate of Unrest, Runnyeye, Najena, the Feerott and Warslik Woods

some ppl have explored lavastorm, stonebrunt, crystal caverns , highkeep, the emerald jungle ,kaesora, the city of mist, the Deep, Kithicor Forest

Killing Phs for rare mobs and waiting for rarer drops which are almost epic to us to upgrade our AC2 leather masks etc is very rewarding
and spells hunted down in commonlands, ocean of tears, the karana druid circle )

I tried making a dwarf warrior over the weekend, and found at least five online at any given time. You just join the channel, list the channel, and voila, they are all there, or will let you know where they are.

Very nice bunch, very helpful, recommend it for anyone into this sort of thing. Lots of old-timers, you can learn some things from the old days, if you havent been there yourself.

I dropped out for very personal reasons which do not reflect on these people in any way. But I got to 11 working on my newbie armor running around Butcherblock, and I even had some plat from doing bone chips and Crushbone belts.

Gratz on your ambitious start-up. I've run with a somewhat similarly styled guild for a year and a half now. Running a guild like that is challenging. You definitely have your work cut out for you. Good luck!

No buffs? Wow.

I have a couple of questions.

1. Would I be able to play any class I want? I realize that you guys are probably looking for specific classes at this point, but I have my preferences. Specifically I would want to play maybe a Warrior, Paladin, Ranger or Wizard.

2. I have a 65 Warrior, I would probably put questing with his guild if I was asked to over logging on my Core Rules toon. Would there be any problem with that? I can balance both with no problem, but if say my main(Warrior) hits 70, and his guild wants to do a raid, I'm going to pick that and play on the Core Rules toon another day.

I think it sounds fun, how can I contact you guys? All my active toons are on Stromm. I play often either between 9AM and 1PM EST Monday thru Friday, I have no set times for EQ on weekends.

I didn't start playing until 2004, so I missed a lot of the awesomeness of the early days of EQ. I wouldn't mind seeing what it was like.
