Weekend Update 1-17,1-18Follow

Saturday: I played around with a halfling paladin on test.

Sunday: I decided a pally wasn't going to work the way I'm planning on playing on test, only self buffs only gear I collect. I roled a druid. Being able to bind right outside a dungeon, being able to port all over the place, gate is going to be super nice. I got the druid to level 14 keeping 1hb, offense, defense and all spell skills capped every level, except conjure which I plan to spam summon food today. I got the 10% haste orb from rufus after legions of dead rats, 4 pieces of home city newbie armor, and a crude defiant leather bracer! I had a blast playing this toon, and 8 hours flew by.

Fri: Helped on several 1.5 fights (and somewhere during the weekend helped on one or two 2.0 fights, but I don't remember what day(s) those were)

Sat: Raided for the first time with the guild. It went fairly well, for a large portion of inexperienced raiders. It did seem like less bs chatter, with most of the people in vent.

However, I keep wondering why everyone uses Vent so much. I used it for over 2yrs and hated it. Even doing the Master Vule event, found it just as efficient, if not more so to use macros over vent. Oh well, I guess it's the way some people are going, and I just won't be raiding where it's mandatory. I mean it's ok to bs with people, or help out a really slow typer from time to time, but for raiding, or even grouping, I very much dislike it. I have to turn my music down to hear people, and turn their volumes way up, and it distracts from paying attention to the screen.

Did some other stuff before and after the raid, but I don't remember what at the moment.

Sun: Went out to eat for my wife's birthday. Was a great meal. Had some birthday company as well, and was great conversations. When I finally got on EQ, went OoW name hunting for some runes .. didn't get many, despite all the names, 1 muramite, and 1 greater, after I don't know 7 or 8 kills. Gave up after running all over MPG, just to find mostly only 2.0 mobs up.

Was gonna try the Dark Reign progression task, Have Note Will Travel, but forgot to take me off puller and died. Doh! Oh well, it looks alot easier to duo with merc now, than at 65, so will prob try it again soon. I had also forgot to make arrows again .. 3 days without arrows is getting annoying. Ended up leveling the Rogue some more in PoI.

Thu: First EQ session since mid-december. We tried Barindu and Ferubi which were both quite easy for a 5 char group (lvl 67). Got some AAs, did a Grobb MM, logged. Seems my addiction cooled down a bit.

Fri-Sun: Enjoyed the weekend, slept a lot. No EQ, but played some WH40k: Dawn of War. I absolutely love this game, although it dates from 2004.

A bit of an exhausting weekend, as I finished flagging my 2-box for Solteris, MMM and Crystallos (non-raid instances). I also helped on a BiC raid. There are no words to describe its awfulness. Decided I will never, ever do BiC. Oh well.

Friday, shivered outdoors at work on ships. When I came home I ran paladin Jonwin over to Cod and camped him with lod running. Took rogue out of drooga to run to mistmoore and farm gargoyle eyes. It was already being farmed so i camped out.
Logged onto druid Muir and finished a wanderers task.

Saturday. Another cold day in town. Worked on ships until 3 PM. Due to presence of President Elect Obama in town bus routes were changed around. Sat for 15 min waiting for a east bound bus to get me to a spot so I could switch and head west bound on the same line. Decided instead to take cab, did I mention it was cold? (10 degrees F for Md. is cold.) Due to streets being closed off I walked up 4 blocks to Holiday Inn thinking I could pick up a cab there. No cabs in line. Oh well walked 5 more blocks to where I could catch a west bound bus back on normal route. One came along just as I reached the stop. Yeah! 15 min later when I try to get off bus, leg will not work. (The left one which I broke last year.) Took me 2 tries to stand, walked home in pain. Took pain medication, called Elne Clare to bring home Chinese take out, (ungrateful wench went to bookstore without me) and limped up to warm bed. Read for a bit, came down and Played empire deluxe. No energy to play eq. Had dinner and went back upstairs to read.

Sunday. Full day of work on ship. A bit warmer, two different tour groups of middle school students who were on way to D.C. to see inauguration.
Came home in time to finish watching Eagles Cardinals game and then the Steelers Ravens. As a Steelers fan born in Baltimore it was the sadest Steelers win I have watched. Towards the end of the game I logged onto rogue and finished farming gargoyle eyes in MM. Got him home and then took him to Hoh to group with guildmate and allakhazam poster Alwayslost. Dinged 58 on rogue.

I returned from my sojourn into Warhammer.

Public Quests, tome of knowledge, and account rewards being claimable by every character you roll forevermore would be the 3 lessons EQ could learn from this game. Any other improvements (mail system, seamless zoning) other games already had.

EQ PVE and Community > Warhammer.

Rolled an Iksar warrior and spent 2 hours moving gear from all the old alts to him. Not sure how far I will take him as the new server could convince me to do a true reroll when it launches.

Good to see familar names still in the forums.

Got all the way to the Idol turn-in in the Hole on my 1.0 for my shaman...course that means I still need the tear...Smiley: banghead

Actually, got from 55 to 57 on the Shaman/warrior combo, with a bunch of AA's without really noticing or trying.

Last weekend got Phinegal in Kedge ( was still 52 on both)...cleared room without him there, then camped west corner. Logged on, and there he was. Because I was below him, the seahorses above didn't help in the fight.Smiley: sly

Was fun, and so I got Naggie and Phinegal...

And loving being on FV...have been on Zek since it was Vallon ( actually since that server opened) , but really liking the people who play on FV. Might just stay awhile...

A little late, but I was skiing(for the first time) through Monday. No EQ.

So much fun and yet with just a bit of pain sprinkled in. Hurtling down a mountain usually leads to some spectacular crashing!
