Well, after being gone from EQ for 6 months, and reading up on the forums and the new expansion and what not , I decided to come back to EQ.

After getting mercs for all 16 of my characters and going to hot zones, and soloing/grouping extremely well, getting mad exp and claiming defiant loot, I levelled the rest of my baby toons up. So now I have 16 charatcers, all classes, between 57 and 70...most at 65+...tons of AAs...good times.

Now, I am leaving for good. I realized that the game is good, really good, AND fun to play. I just do not want to fall back into it. Yeah, was fun catching up with guildies and friends, and getting awesome exp, and seeing the new zones ( god I love having a rogue with SoS), but even still , I realized that the game, for me, is just too intensive.

I would rather have the active lifestyle that I developed after 6 months of being away from EQ, than to be sitting in my chair leveling imaginary toons. For all of you gamers out there still playing EQ, please , enjoy the hell out of the game. If I had less desire to be active or healthy , then I would definitely be there with you.

Not flaming EQ or EQers...just saying goodbye...finally...been fun...peace..

Everquest allakhazam is about learning and sharing information. Please take your false insults to eqplayers boards home of complaining and insults!

Do not mean any harm to him/her but I lead an active life and still find time for this game which I just came back on Sunday after three years and also work and dabble in other games. Am really laughing a bit.

However, that said, they might the type of person who is easily addictive to the point of excluding everything else. Who knows. Was a different post for sure.

Me? was thinking ahead of the new zones, the old ones which I loved, starting 2 new toons (still in tutorial, itching to leave tutorial), trying to get my old toons back. I have a lot of exploring to do, lot of playing to do, a lot of new learning and a lot of catching up and noticing how dorky my new Pally's noob helm looks on her, hehe (yes, I did click and now it doesn't show)

Ok, i will take the flamebait.

Hmmmm, lets see, get up at 5:00 in the morning, get on the treadmill, then the boflex for a bit, shower, eat breakfast, go to work, do an 8 hour day, head home, eat dinner, log into EQ for about 2 to 4 hours to play, chat with friends, socialize a bit, kill some mobs, raid with the guild if they are raiding and i want to(casual family raiding guilds FTW), have fun, instead of rotting my brain on TV(well, except for a few shows i DVR and then watch on the treadmill). Call it a night between 9:00 and 10:00

Some nights i do not play, but most i do.

Yea, still only 81, and not done with Bayles crest(or even access to void b), but having a blast, having a social life, having a RL as well(friends over every week).

Just because you cannot balance a game and RL, is no reason to throw a backhanded insult to those of us that can, or even the few that cannot balance them well but play anyway.

And then you say you are not flaming, lol.

Thank you Kasandra. You perfectly put down what I was trying to say in my message. Well done.

I didn't take the post as a flame or an insult. Go live your life dude. EQ is just a game and shouldn't consume all your free time.

Thank you Gayle, and wb, too bad you are not on my server.

Boomsticker, i can understand how you did not percieve it as an insult, and if it was not, fine, but it can easily be interpreted as an insult by a lot of people, and i really feel people should watch the wording of how they post, as misunderstandings can easily happen.

I am well aware how touchy people are on this forum.

He'll be back.
Everyone comes back.
He'll be back.
EQ is like a common cold,
Get it out of your system, and it comes back.
He'll be back.
Everyone comes back.

very true.. the game is a great escape.... eventually everyone comes back (either because they tried the other games and realized they are carbon copies) or they can again afford/have time to sit down and play for couple hours every now and then and have a good day.. . For the games sake I hope they come back....

EQ prevents you from being healthy just as playing Call of Duty makes you shoot people.

Get a clue.

*shrug* ...was not a flame nor a jab at anyone. Was just saying , that for me, the game is too intensive or addictive. And yeah I do spend too much time playing it, which again, is why I left. There was no backhanded insults or jabs at anyone, and I am sorry of you took it that way. Be safe, and have fun.

Honestly, I don't think you're serious. It's not a slight on you, it's just the word of someone who's been there. :)

There were no health problems on my part (I'm hyperactive by nature and have been since that blizzardy day in '73 when I lost the battle to continue leeching free food, drink, and a cozy pad. Type A personality helps too) but I got tired of herding cats and being shackled to people I loved but that didn't have the same level of drive/commitment I had. Also the whole LFG thing. My advice to you is, if you're serious about quitting EQ once and for all, get rid of your account(s). Whether you sell them or just outright delete all the characters on it, get rid of it. You want to set up layers of deterrence to prevent you from returning. The first layer is always going to be "Do I remember how to play?" but the most powerful layer available is "I'm not starting from scratch!", thus the getting rid of the account part.

Take your memories with you, but leave everything else behind. Good luck!
