I haven't played in a while, but just so you know, only waiting 20 minutes for a response is kinda impatient, heh.

There are many times where I miss EQ, but as I have limited funds, I won't be returning until the next time they offer a free month or two to returning players.

When you ask 'is it worth it', the answer is invariably NO!

As a casual player not in current content, you will be lonely many days. Adding a player LFG can be very interesting. It runs a full range of player types, young players who think they are the best player ever, a raiders alt toon who is not happy with the casual game pace, the player that isn't paying attention or trying to pull there own weight, a player that doesn't have a clue how to play their toon or how to get to the zone your in, or the rare gem a nice player that enjoys EQ loves the casual game and is knowledgeable.

EQ is a lot more fun if your grouping with someone you like playing with, however EQ is still the best single player computer game I've ever played.

So set some goals for yourself and jump back in.

I just came back after, approx. 3 years and installed and now have all the expansions. I started missing it a lot in the last six months and kept dragging along and making excuses why not to come back.

I am in the tutorial at the moment with 2 toons and hoping that they will get my old toons back for me (have requested it).

I made a mistake and went from mines to next area without finishing the mines but did read in general messages: /1. 64 new players which I will assume that they were on at that time. Saw a few fighting in noob fields and checking out vendors etc. in Cresent Ridge. Then I behaved myself and started again with my tutorials.

Even if some of those are players making new toons, Yes, there are new players and I think more will be returning. Do I think as many as when the game was new and before I even played the first time, doubt it.

For me, am glad to be back. How I will juggle all this I dont know. Do know EQ last night grabbed me once more and stayed up way too late for the time I get up.

I cant say what is good for you, but for me. Smiled alot.

As a former EQ addict , I feel your pain. I just came back after a healthy 6 month break. I purchased SoD expansion , got mercs for all of my 16 characters, hit all the hotzones....soled very easily for mad exp...grouped quite a bit for grinding away. The game is fun as hell man and even easier to level up , get insanely good gear, and have a awesome time.

For me , alas, it was too addictive , so after like 3 weeks back , I stopped my sunscription, deleted EQ off my pc, and am now jutsa ghost haunting the forums.

Hope that helps

Just get the latest expansion download and give it a shot. 40 bucks is cheap compared to say going out to dinner for 2 and you won't be pooping it out the next day.

I held off buying newest expansion(SOD).. wow do I feel like giving myself a swift kick in the ******** that expansion was the best expansion since Kunark.... I have so far spent more time actually having fun and doing things I never thought I would be able to do (do to time restraints and fact I dislike grouping)... Sony really blew it not advertising heavily that expansion... it really is one of their best...
