coming back...graphics update?Follow

Hey I got into EQ just a couple yrs ago after playing WoW for awhile and wanted something better and had a good friend who had played it for years and got me to go out and buy it with all it's expansions considering it was pretty cheap. My problem with it was the fact that it was just way too outdated graphically for me...i know you shouln't vcare about such things if the gameplay is good, but i can't help it, i do like some eye candy. Basically i have heard the are doing a new engine and updating the graphics and was wondering how much of the content they have updated if any. I would appreciate some input and thank you.

why is it ppl want eye candy and they play WoW, i recently logged into it and was vastly disappointed at how much it looked like garbage. Made me glad im on EQ1 and after looking at both id have to argue that the graphics in EQ1 far surpass WoW in almost every way but dont hold a candle to EQ2. but then again i like realism in my MMORPG when it comes to graphics.

Well first off WoW is better eye candy then eq1 last time i played it. EQ1 looked like i was playing a game on the sega genesis or something like the ps1. Realistic, not at all, if you think eq1 is realistic you have issues. Yes, wow is cartoony but it's smoother and does look much better than eq1. I am trying to get away from wow and i know eq is a better game but just couldn't handle how awful the graphics were and eq2 was ok as far as graphics go but not as good of a game. Sorry to sound as if i'm bashing eq, i'm not, just bashing the graphics. I never said wow was eye candy in the first place, i have played AoC and other games that are newer and those are better for eye candy but crap games. For example, prolly the best graphics i have seen for an MMO is the game Ryzom which is just gorgeous. So anyways, sorry to go on for awhile but just thought i would clear myself and was just looking for a simple answer though. So, again the question is, are the graphics better than they were like a year and a half ago. I bought the anniversary edition which had up to pirates of the burning sea so it didn't include the TSS expansion.
