I have not played in 4 years now and I reactivated my account just to check out some things. I have also bought the new expansions that I did not have including SOD. But I can't figure out this stupid new UI at all. Where the hell do I find the stats on my equipment? I used to know what was good bad and what stats were on them but I don't have a clue anymore and I can't seem to do anything but click on the stupid items. Nothing comes up used to be able to hover over and get stats and things.

Can anyone help me with that? I am probably just not setting something up correctly but I have not found out for the life of me for the last 2 days and I am done trying without asking.

Thanks

Right click on the item. Hold the click until stats appear.

Read the above sticky note/thread about coming back to the game.

I've always held down right mouse button to have it pop up.

Depending on your class is what stats are important. Stamina is good for any class, wisdom is good for clerics, shamans, druids, and I believe pallys and rangers for bigger mana pools. Armor class for tanks. Intelligence for wizards, necros, mages, enchanters, and SK's for their mana pools. Melee classes like monks, rogues, and zerkers would like strength for bigger hits.

It's all really irrelevant because it doesn't take long to max stats anyways. With the defiant gear at level 65 I'm maxed on my necro and that's with 5 aa's in Planer Power.

Tanks are really the only really gear dependent classes out there. I always look for avoidance > shielding > AC > hit points, because I think it's better not to get hit then get hit for less.

Well I can understand that as well on the max out of items. Most of my characters are just at the 50+ range, but I wanted to see what the items I had were as well as what spells and levels the spells are listed in my spell book as it looks like a jumbled mess from what I used to remember. Thanks for the info I am going back into the game to see what I can find.

Thanks

New UI bites, here's a version of the old one, that works with the current EQ system: Drakah's Default Old UI. You have to create an account to download it, if you don't have one there already.

You can use Right-Click for alot of things now, or use Alt+Left-Click (generally same as right-click), and Shiftt+Left-click grabs whole stack of items, while Ctrl+Left-click grabs a single item. Spell Gems are one of the best context menu (Right-Click) features, so you don't have to keep your spell book organized, or even know what to look for on toons you haven't played, the menu pretty much describes the spell, with a few exceptions.

Hope this helps some.

Yther Ore.
