Ldon - and being 85Follow

Anyone noticed that being 85, LdoN missions are messed up?
only way to get LdoN points now seems to shroud down, however this sucks as u got no gear unless your wealthy to put gear on the shrouded toon. Anyone know if SoE gonna fix this?

You can't gear shrouds, regardless of wealth.

What exactly is messed up?

Based on what you are saying I am assuming that if you have 3 level 85's you can't get a mission.

If that is the case can you have 1 or 2 level 85's shroud down to level 70 and still group with the 85 and have the level 70 shroud character request the mission? Or is the 15 level range to big of a difference?

Or do all 3 have to shroud down to 70 to get a mission? If that is the case, can't you just unshroud after you get the mission and then do it back at your normal level? It would be a pain to run back and forth but it might be a work around...

From what I have heard, and I dont have verified, is that 85 couldnt get missions. I know jophiel had a small problem getting a mission a few weeks ago, but he wanst 85 either.
I have also heard that 80 could get mission but all the mobs were grey so you were only doing them for points.

What I do know is that a few folks , including my toons, around 80 to 70 have been doing them in Lucky Insane on povar. We have been getting exp, though even in hard tasks mobs are light blue, and 105 points an adventure.

Shrouding down to 75 to get missions is possible and at that level mobs even fighting shrouded, shouldnt be too difficult.

I think if your group level averages out below 83 you can get them, perhaps a bot/friend shrouded at 70 can drag that level average down if true.

I wasn't able to get the LDoN adventure givers to speak to me at level 71 (while grouped with 2 others) but I don't know if that was just something wonky with me or if it's the way it is. Reading Jonwin's experience, it sounds as though it was me and not a hard cap on being able to get an LDoN (at least not capped for a 71).

It's not .. I've done several 70 to 80 levels .. a few with all 80s. You have to be Group Leader to request a mission tho, and there's a level gap limit ... It's 10 levels for a level 75 as highest and lower, but I"m not sure about for higher levels.

there was a huge thread on the soe forums about ldons and this expansion. soe SPECIFICALLY said they are not going to support level 85 ldons. you HAVE to shroud if you're that level, OR get your group average lower than that, alrhough, by how much, i don't know.

there's really only two reasons to do ldons at level 85: max out the augment (there's better charm augs out there by now) and for the paladin and rogue epic quests. maybe SoE will make an exception for ldon raids, but for groups, what's the point ? the monsters max out at level 70, it would be completely trivial even for a group of 3. heck, a level 85 enchanter could tank a level 65 ldon, solo, and do just fine.
and for those people who say that they want to do the content anyways with their friends.. well Crushbone is still around, The Warrens are still there, Crystal Caverns are still around but are you shrouding and playing in those zones ? with level 85 mains ? i doubt it. if you were serious about ldons you'd have a level 65 alt that did them predominantly.
besides, now that ldon spells can be researched - and are so quickly replaced given that level 75 and 80 are so highly sought after by every singly player - there's barely even a point in buying the last remaining thing worth getting.

This is one of the stupidest things I've read lately. Who knew you had to want to visit every zone on a regular basis before you could want to visit any one specific zone?

Level capping content is dumb. Especially instanced content which isn't going to disrupt anyone anyway (as opposed to the Nagafen/Vox cap). Who cares if level 85's want to tromp through Lvl 65 LDoNs, killing grey mobs and getting obsolete +4 STR augments? Even if it sounds like a complete waste of time to you, let them do it anyway if it makes them happy. It's better than shutting off part of the game content to them* for no good reason. It's not as though mowing through grey dungeons with crap plat loot and outdated item drops is game breaking.

*By which I mean with whichever PC the player wishes, not "Well, you can shroud down!" or "Go play your alt!"

You are in such a rush to dismiss it you forget two other obvious valued parts of ldons. Slot 3 augs that many find use for (mods such as attack, dodge % mods). Also the tradeable named drops in the 65+ scaled missions are generally fantastic tribute, scaling up to as much as 30k+.

The 75 toons I have been doing Ldon with are going to earn the augs. Only reason.
