While I was home on leave I downloaded the entire game and expansions at my house. The game worked fine on the computer that I downloaded it on. I copied the entire Sony file onto my external hard drive and brought it back with me. I copied the entire folder over to my laptop into the program files(x86) folder.
Now I'm stuck here.
If I run the station launcher and click the launch game button the screen will flicker between a black screen and my desktop before it crashes and I get an unknown software exception error.
If I run the everquest.exe file the patcher repeatedly tries to download the dbghelp.dll file.
My computer specs in case it helps anyone with some ideas.
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit
Intel T8300 2.4ghz processor
4GB Ram
Nvidia 8600m GT 512MB graphics card

delete the eqhardware.ini file, and all the EQ_Missing_Files.log.* files, then repatch.
Flickering screen, is prob trying to use your home computer hardware, which most likely is not the same as on your laptop.
EQ_Missing_Files.log.* should fix the repetitious downloading.

One more thing - you're laptop isn't Vista is it? If it is then you need to do 2 things:
1) Copy the Sony hierarchy somewhere OTHER than inside 'Program files'
2) When you start the launcher do it by right-clicking and selecting 'run as administrator'

On my Vista laptop I also had to go into the shortcut properties and make sure it was running as if for XP service pack 2.
