Holy smokes. Magicians everywhere these days.

They don't shrink their pets because it's a level 19 spell and they were level 19 for only 1 minute 13 seconds. They don't have any AA's but they are mad uber thanks to Gober.

On the other hand, Bards and Enchanters are extinct. I am so giddy when I get to group with a Bard.

Just random observations.

I have a mage.

Her sole raison d'être lately is to sit in the Guild Lobby and summon pet toys for my Shadowknight.

C'est triste.

When I box my Mage with my Necromancer or Monk, my DPS goes through the roof. Pet + RS = weeping mobs. Did you tire of the Mage or do you find them to be underwhelming?

I usually have an early morning group with 2-3 mages and either a bard or shammy depending on which one that person wants to log in or what needs to be pulled.
The tanking and damage output is phenomenal and with CoH, pulling is a breeze if the bard isn't on.

I'm coming back to her. Mercs help a lot since my pet heals suck at 62.

The spell thing is getting tedious; I either have to camp spells with my SK or else find someone to research for me (or do it myself but my skill is lagging and grinding tradeskills isn't my idea of fun). Spells in the 61-70 range aren't readily available in the Bazaar and, when they are, the pricing is obscene. Not interested in dropping 15k for my 63 pet, Mr. Bazaar Mule, sir. It was a PITA with the SK as well but at least hitting things with other things never goes obsolete.

My mage is quite fun with a merc healer around. I'd played one years ago, but the whole spell research issue left me underwhelmed. My current one is level 52 now and a nice diversion.

Joph, if you'd like my necro can join you for spell hunting. I'll need some for my mage and it's always more amusing to lay waste to zones with others.

My 67 gnome mage on FenninRo liked to grab a shammy and maybe a druid and go tank mobs in WoS. The 66 air pet can hold mega aggro there and we slice down mobs like noones business. I also like randoming going through zones and dropping summoned items. Used to fill up the guild hall with flaming swords and other things. I can definitely say I have never been bored as a mage post 50. And yeah I shrink Gobaner like twice. I think I remember at one point when we could hit them like 3 times and they were like this little itty bitty dot . Of course, I remember when all the pets looked like blobs too, but I have beena round too long. I have all 16 classes too, so I definitely appreciate when there is a mage in my party.

Do you guys think that a mage would be more powerful with a healer merc? Cause I have been kicking *** with my epic 1.0 pet and a tank merc. Though I have not heard what is better in qll actuallity.

Kill!

I have not really ever tried a tank merc, but as a mage the healer merc has totally changed my playstyle. I can concentrate on nuking more and mow through XP mobs. Named mobs that were difficult to solo become easily soloed.

CoH pulling can be pretty great in areas where there are snareable mobs. I got most of my groupable armor in DoDH's and also Devistation (PoR) stuff that way. LDoNs too... =)
