If you had been gone from the game for over three years and have been told you can get your toons back (fairly high level).

You, of course, are totally rusty at EQ by this time.

Would you bring your toons back and create a new one?

Not bring them back, just start over and learn as you level?

Am not worried about soloing if new toon.

Just not sure which way to go on this that will make it the most fun.

This, either way, will be very casual.

Thanks

I'd get them back and dork around in old zones with weaker mobs (Kunark, Velious) while I got the hang of things.

I stopped playing about 6 years ago after I gave
away my account.
I've been back a year and of course had to start
from the ground up.
I loved the feeling of starting all over. Sort of
a "fresh start"
Its easier to solo than ever now with mercs. once
you scrape up some pocket change.
I'm a happy gamer now and I play on the best server
there is.

Do you like your old toons ? If so get busy bringing toon up to todays casual standards elaborate defiant armor, hotzone augments etc. You didn't mention level or AAs, but work on AAs to build up your toon. I read a post from a developer stating upper expansions like Secrets of Faydwer are designed for toons with 500 AAs.

Do you wish you roled another class instead of your main ? Then go for it. It can be fun to start fresh.

Even still, I'd hang on to the old characters if you have slots for new ones. You may want them for farming or to complete sections of quests for your newbies (killing Mob X for a drop, etc). Plus, once you get the hang of things, you might want to dust them off.

Also while you may think your Equipment on those old toons are outdated and no longer worth anything you may be suprised.. Non required/recommended armor from old expansions actually sell very well in teh Bazaar to people wanting to twink. I brushed off a couple of my characters when I came back was able to sell their equipment for a good chunk of change and upgrade to equipment that was for supierior for a fraction of what I had sold.. Just some advice just in case you didnt think of it..

Nekowa and I were gone for two years, back for 4 months and then gone for 2 years and now we are back again.

We brought back our high toons (lvl 66 and lvl 65 respectively). Because most long term people who know what they are doing (ie, the type of people we want to play with) are now 75-85, that gives us 10 or so levels to get back into the swing of it.

You would be amazed at how much you remember after being away. First time after 2 years away, when I mezzed a mob, my fingers automatically went to where my old hot keys were!
