trying to remember. its been so long since i have done any. does anyone know of any that they could suggest doing? i sort of remember a mask but i cant remember if it was for rogue or bard and forgot the name so cant look up to find out. thanks for anyone who can leave the names of a few of them
I think that all of the masks (aside from the Vah Shir Guise of the Hunter, if I remember correctly) are limited to Bard or Rogue only, and will not work unless equipped.
There are so many, it's hard to know which one you're talking about. By far, the easiest to get is the Dark Elf illusion mask, from the Ghoul Assassin in Lower Guk.
Edit: Nope, Guise of the Hunter is limited to Bard/Rogue only.
Just a tip for how to look up the different masks: Just search for Illusion: XXXX (where XXXX is the race you're looking for... halfling, human, etc.), and kinda follow the links there until you get to the "Items with this effect" page.

Also, certain items in that list (at least the Amulet of Necropotence) are clickable by anyone, despite being class restricted to wear them.
Why has SOE been so tight-fisted with illusion clickies? You either have to play LON (an abomination, if you ask me) or have been one of the VERY FEW people (in some cases ONE PERSON) who gets an item. C'mon, there's nothing game-breaking here.
because traditionally the only trickster classes are bards and rogues. i think SOE is trying to hang on to what vestiges of RP they have left. personally i like it this way -- one of the advantages of playing bards or rogues is they have so many illusions to choose from -- but everyone can use illusions now with illusion potions, cheaply bought in the bazaar, and many items now attainable are all/all with illusions attached (though mostly raided).
next you'll be saying every class should get a small version of harm touch, or every class should get a healing ability, not just rangers, pallies, clerics, shammies, druids, and beastlords. that's hardly game breaking!

Some other big mmo don't give you any illusion options, nor class-defying armor choices (though most of this in EQ require massive stat sacrifices, i.e., the caster in chain look).
Enchanters can sink some aa into being able to give others illusions. Should illusion pots have been implemented? Probably wouldn't have been if enchanter (mains not bots) population wasn't small.
Crown of deceit quest I have done. Doesn't help wood elves out, but is good for anyone else.
