Another weekend with almost no EQ.

I managed to get the NEc and DRU out to burn lesson and it was nice to play them again.

How about you guys?

No EQ during the last 4 weeks, but now I'm back. Other this weekend:

Fri: Returned from our honeymoon trip to Namibia. Did the laundry and went to bed.

Sat: Slept. Ate. Slept.

Sun: Cleaned the flat.

Yes, very exciting...

Wow bbot saturday must have been fairly exciting between sleeping and eating if you had to clean up the place on Sunday.

Friday Continue rogue in drooga. Went shopping in bazaar to up grade his weapon. Had primrosex in 40 shroud in ww looking for the silverwing shard, no exp but did get it. Decided to start ranger epic for Adeste. At 60 his faction wasnt high enough so it was off to Freeport and muffins. I even burned LOD during the hand ins but didn't see the bar move at all. Later on I thought if I am going to do faction work I may as well shroud go to gfay and kill orc's. That I did. Level 5 cleric shroud and yellow orc conscripts made for an interesting time of it.
Brought in the level 35 druid to help out with dot and snare and was able to get faction high enough.

Saturday Worked on the Ship. Wish I could have slept and ate more.
Rogue in drooga.
Played with the mage ding 25 in cr doing a task and killing noks. They got their revenge by killing me. Repop and an add.
Had logged on paladin to shroud to cleric but he was otherwise neeeded to fill out an anguish group. Didn't go there, just was a file filler. He rezzed mage and buffed two other guiidies in Cr. Had a very long lag in zoning for some reason.

Sunday Worked on ship. It was nice to be on the Constellation two days in a row, but when I came home the leg was swollen and throbbing. That's the left leg not the short one. Put ice on it and tried to corner market on spiderling silks.
Later on I logged onto druid and shaman in pos. shaman account was shut down during log in. Later on during a long combat that killed both pets due to adds I cast succor and the druid account crashed on me. <shrug. Not a night for connections. Logged onto rogue in drooga and died. ( I didnt have v only a potion of fortitude, a mushroom really.) Oh well i get to try out my new piercing weapon on the run back to it.

I decided to get the Lightforge quest over with this weekend, so I spent Saturday trying to find my way in Kedge Keep. In the end I did find Phinigel's room, one seahorse and Phinigel himself saw through my invis so I carefully went down (cursing the rather unnatural way swimming down straight goes in EQ) and found the final part I needed.

Ofcourse, then Phinigel found me and I pretty much died within a minute (including my divine aura). Still, I finally had all the parts and am now ready to get all the parts for the coffin I need to get. Stupid as I can be, I've managed to get a diamond and a pearl levelling up but I sold those. Ofcourse, now I need one of those again, so as Bazaar had none I decided to try my luck and hunt in the Dreadlands (I was nearby as I had to buy a Fire Emerald in Firona Vie).

I ended up in Karnor's Castle, finally dinging 53 and getting my ninth AA point, but haven't found a diamond yet. As I can't seem to find any enchanted platinum bars, I've pretty much given up on that way too lengthy quest. The spell you get at the end is definitely not worth the effort.

So Sunday, with the aid of a very friendly lvl 71 necromancer from the guild, I decided to finally continue the Soulfire quest. Lucan D'Lere went down in a matter of seconds, with just the two of us. I pulled all the guards to the zoneline and zoned out, he just hailed Lucan to keep him near, I zoned back, grouped again and then he just nuked Lucan twice. (he spawns again as undead)

After that, I went to Mistmoore Castle again to try and find Xicotl. After spending about 9 invis potions to get to the Spa room, there were undead scattered all over, can't remember ever seeing those there, I made it and it took only two place holders to get him up. He went down very swiftly.

So now I have all the items I need for the hand-in, but my factions are not good enough as yet. I got my Temple of Life faction in Qeynos up to warmly, but I'm not going to risk failing on my hand-in and I'll continue turning in bandit sashes (only gave about 40 so far) so I'm ally. Knights of Truth is already at warmly (only natural after killing Lucan) but again I'm not risking a failed hand-in so I'll go hunting some guards in East Freeport (green only, those guards hit very hard).

I should have my Soulfire this week, maybe even tonight but I won't be able to play much.

Buy platinum bars and /ooc in Guild Hall, I'm sure you'll find some kind chanter who will make the enchanted ones for you. As for the pearl and the diamond, have a regular look at the merchants in PoK, folks keep selling them when returning from their hunt...

FRI: Played my necro a little and got a couple aa's. Nothing to exciting.

SAT: No EQ but went to a small town festival with my family. I have been going 20 something years and have been playing horseshoes with my grandpa for the past 12 or so. We didn't do very well this year but we had fun, plus some good Blue Grass music and wonderful BBQ, we had a great time. Plus the little one won a couple prizes at the little games they had, she was very excited!

SUN: Had originally was going to play my warrior but no one was on and a guildie needed my shaman. I'm glad I switched because it was a great group. After 3.5 hours of camping Fort Mech I got a couple AA's and 50% of a level. I also got an Alloy-linked bracer and some nice cash drops. Was a great group and was glad I tagged along.

Folks are usually happy to tradeskill some minor item (such as enchanting bars) if you say it's for a quest. Another place to look for diamonds is on the Gunthak lighthouse merchants as gems are a pretty common drop in that expansion. You can also try hunting in Dulak for one.

I played very little. Dinged 68 in HoH trying to get the Silverwing drop. After three or four days there I have yet to see a single parchment drop nor the final SW drop (I did get one shard). This has been pulling the armors near the front of the zone.

I had bought a Muramite rune before for a mere 6k and so got my 68 pet right away. OMG a SK pet that cons light blue to me instead of grey! Dressed up Jibartik in new pet gear and went to Tower of Sol Ro just for ***** & giggles. Found out I can now solo Sentries/Guardians of Ro and still be at 30% hp/mana afterwards (they creamed me last level... go figure). It's horribly inefficient and a complete waste of time but I killed eight of them anyway just for the novelty of being able to solo them.

Was sick for most of the weekend so I only played EQ on Friday night. I created a bard and hung out in the tutorial for a while. Leveled up to 5 and called then called it quits. Stupid flu virus...

Went to Maine for the weekend...so no EQ for me.

Visited the art museum at Bowdoin college in Brunswick. Awesome place and the admission price is even better (free). Went to the Portland Museum of Art on Sunday which has a great collection as well.

Now I need to get caught up to Miss Mandie, who apparently spent the weekend grinding all of her alts to skip ahead of my necro.

Raided with guild Saturday night. We were doing a lot of epic 1/1.5/2 kills and then golems for Crystallos access. Was fun, though occasionally annoying as folks kept getting the raid slaughtered. Could have been much worse.

Plinked around in Plane of Storms, got an AA on cleric.

Friday - Had the day off from worked so took my trio to Sunderock Springs for some hotzone experience. Zerker dinged 74, cleric dinged 76 and chanter dinged 71. Got the aug for all 3, as well. Was a very productive day. Cleric needs one more level for Temerity. Yay!

Saturday - Beautiful late summer day so no EQ.

Sunday - I spent some time in Dragonscale Hills with the trio. Was hoping for a Temerity Rk. II spell to drop but no such luck. Experience wasn't very good either since everything conned light blue. I did manage to pick up about 5k in vendor fodder so it wasn't a total waste of time.

Quite true, I found a diamond in the Gulf of Gunthak whilst stocking for invis potions today. After getting the Soulfire at last, only died once fighting the militia in Freeport, that was ofcourse when I took a wrong turn and ended up in the same room as a guildmaster. Very, very big mistake.

Fri: Stayed late on the ship to give tours to some retired Navy people. Mom was in town, so not much in EQ for the weekend. Plus spent some time with the family as I am now out to sea for the week. I did manage to Burn Lesson on my Necro and hit 57 while kiting bears in the Roost. Switched over to the Wizard and dinged 48 on him killing LB's in goru'ku mesa. Than logged in my Bazaar mule for the rest of the weekend.

Sat: Slept in till 9am. (Man that's bad when 9am is late!) Took my Mom and family out to eat at the Studio Diner near the house. Good stuff, especially when Mom foots the bill.

Sun: Slept in again till 9am. Checked on the mule and got myself around 8k from selling crap in the bazaar. It's amazing how much crap I kept from over a year ago. One man's trash is another man's treasure...?

Mon: Woke up way before the crack of dawn, got my butt to the ship and here I am underway again. Heh!

For quest faction work try handing in bone chips or gold to Lashun Novashine in N qeynos. That's how I got faction high enough for the old Aegis of Life shield.
Not sure of his faction or what you need.
As far as I'm concerned the spell has been well worth it. 65 dd proc is fine with me.

I turned in about 50 or so bandit sashes and went from amiable to ally, it took a couple of hours to get those but there's a group of very swiftly respawning raiders in North Karana (from the spires, just follow the coastline towards the other bridge, it's in a corner). I heard it would have taken about 2000 gp to get the faction up enough, so I decided not to try that out and just focus on the sashes. After Lucan, killing five guards was enough to get to ally in Freeport too, turning in the helmets ofcourse.

As for the 65 proc from the Lightforge quest, I'll get it this weekend most likely as I've come this far, it's handy against non-undead as we've got nothing else but ofcourse against undead the 255 damage is way superior. I've read and heard debates on whether or not the 65 proc is worth the lengthy and dangerous quest (only died twice myself though). It is better to have a 65 proc than nothing and it is also part of paladin lore (well, sort of).
