Must Have Cleric quest/item/gear?Follow

I recently started a cleric to box with my 80 Ranger, and I have started wanting to do more quests and such for him.

At 52 I stopped to get him his epic, which I actually had fun doing, lol. I also stopped in Nadox, Dulak, and Gunthak to get Temp and Pure Blood taken care of (it was easy because he was being PL'd there anyway). He's got a full set of Elaborate Defiant, and I am going to be getting him some Dwerium Trio gear for at least his fingers and ears (I like having a SoF neck). I also gave him the Blackburrow Shield with the resist click, but he can't use it until he's 71. The rest of his gear is basically hotzone stuff that dropped while he was being PL'd through the 50's. All of his gear slots are filled, but nothing other than the visible slots were really attained on purpose. (I'll start a magelo for him when I get his gear settled more).

ATM he is level 62 and he just got his 25th or so AA (spell casting subtelty3 filled last night, yay!). I have him basically parked in Noble's Causeway and WoS, where I am farming as many nameds as I can for runes while hoping that the NC Hotzone aug will drop (10ac/50hp). So far no luck yet on that aug, but it is just one of many hotzone augs that are on his to-do list (WoS aug dropped like 15 times last night, lol). He picked up around a dozen augs so far, and still has about another 10 or so to complete his set.

While accumulating the rest of his augs, and collecting the runes, I have started thinking about what other goals I need to have in mind to get him some necessary items/spells/quests etc.

After looking through a lot of the older threads on EQcleric.org I posted this question there and though have gotten a lot of views over there, but no replies. I also looked back through quite a few pages of the cleric forums here, as well as perusing the Cleric Wiki. I didn't see any topics or threads that really addressed this.

So here's my question:


I have some ideas in mind, but you gotta remember that that I grew up Ranger, so I may have skipped over some quests that might have been vital for a Cleric. Not to mention things have changed in the years since I was in the 50's 60's and low 70's.

My ideas so far:
* Cloak of the Spirit Hunter
* Hotzone augs (preferred order for me is AC>MANA>HP)
* Level 55/70 auras
* Efreeti Death Visage
* Jonas Dagmire's Skeletal hand
* SoF Face Aug
* Familiar from Icefall Glacier
* DoD missions for 68/69/70 spells
* LDoN Missions for chest spells (any other needed spells from here?)
* MPG Group Trials (after getting chest spells)
* PoP Armor (maybe a clicky or 2?)
* Arcstone Armor (bp click perhaps?)

Depending on who of my friends I can get on at the same time as me, I may even be able to get a 2.0 orb in the next couple months, so 1.5 is of course already in the works also.

So there it is. Are there anymore ideas you all can throw out there? I know he is being boxed, but I would still like him to be as well-rounded as possible. I would like to know that when he has to do more than just heal, he can do so competently.

Your first priority from your list should be the 55 aura, its a great dmg mitigator for the group and it only takes about 10-15 minutes to do sitting in Takish-Hiz off of north ro. Just kill 4 amazingly easy mobs winter-spring-summer-fall and turn in the drops to the dude in the same zone. Bang your done your aura.

I would just skip the cloak spirit hunter quest and just wear the SOF lvl 65 Elladrials cloak when you can. Its far superior and your cleric needs the foci it provides: Fizzletinders Benevelent Extension 1

For hot zone augs, some are fine. I would also head to Thallasius and get the Muckdiver and Rockcrusher augs. Those shouldnt take but a few hours if that, plus the exp there is fine. Then head to Jewel Atiki and get the aug from Rockstorm. Hes fairly easy to spawn also. Extreemly simple kite or root rot for your team.

You can start jonas but you may need a third person for some parts. I would skip the SOF face aug for now. But consider this: you would gain far more ability and capability if you stick with leveling and get better gear than working on a hand aug.

I would also totally forget POP armor and Arcstone armor. You have better things to do with your time that spend it on those.

MPG group trials current purpose is to increase resist stats max. No other reason than that. SO you wont need to consider this until you start hitting max resists with your current cap AND find yourself needing another 50 resists. This is normally the route for raiding players facing heavy casting boss mobs. Not so much the group player or the boxer.

It would actually be better for you to do a few DON missions/raids and get the "xxxx of the Keepers". You would find that much more beneficial.

Lastly, if you already tradeskill with another toon, and are of the same race, you can just make your cleric some elegant/sublime armor when you reach the required level.

Finally, when you get to the correct level (80) you can hang around fort mech and ask ppl passing thru if they are headed to Gyrospire beza/zeka. Once you get the two drops there you are almost halfway done your crystallos key. THen just hang around dragonscale hills for a group to hit golems and you have finished the hardest parts.
The rewards for this are you can wear the Teir 4 cleric armor you see on ppl near the top of the cleric list on your server's magelo.
