I've been working on the Silverwing quests out of POK with an alt. The first drop in Mistmoore was quite easy (got it on about the fifth mob). Spent an afternoon in Permafrost for the power source, got the ring but no crystal. I returned on another day and got the crystal on the first mob I killed.
Trakanon's Teeth is the next zone. Yesterday I spent the afternoon there, got 3 levels but no drops. Has anyone who's been working on this found similar drop rates? Or are there certain mobs more likely to carry the drops than others?
As an aside, I've never liked Trak's Teeth as a zone and now my hatred for it grows. Talk about the being the armpit of Kunark.

I can attest to the drop rate for some items and shards in some zones, i do not remember what ones, seemed way out of whack. I wanted to get the final charm, and finally gave up.
I had to clear the bigger spectral keeper camp like ten times before I got the neck piece. The rule of thumb in EQ is, If you need something it doesn't drop. If your burned out on it go somewhere else and try back another day.
I feel the pain of anyone who has ever com-plained about a drop rate. My main is a ranger. I spent literally months trying to get the SEoC to drop for my epic.
I'm getting a better drop rate on defiant armor pieces than I am the Silverwing bits. Sigh.
marres, im in traks as well with Jonwin, winjon and primrosex. First 5 mobs I killed saw the armor drop. No other drops since except for the defiant armor you mentioned. I am doing large amounts of damage to the undead but just not seeing the drops. If you need a spare shard let me know in guild chat as my rogue is camping droga for the faction and has picked up an extra.

After writing this my first set of pulls on winjon got the shard, the second set of pulls had primrose loot the circlet or whatever it is.

Spent two hours in Trak's Teeth yesterday afternoon. One hour in, got the neck piece off a sabertooth tigress. Next hour, got nothing.
Moved on to Warslik's Woods for the next part. Got the range item fairly fast, but no power crystal. Spent about an hour and a half there.

Got the neck item for jonwin today. About 20 min of killing solo and five or so with winjon. i just kept to the undead area and pulled 3 or 5 at a time.

I've had a total of 7 of the range items drop in Warsliks. No crystal for the drop from Trak's. Sigh. Spent much of the day in Warsliks.
Next zone is on Luclin, may just try there next.

I was farming in Blightfire with my SK trying to get my ranger the earring drop. After two nights, I saw four caster earrings drop and still haven't seen the melee version.

What's that earring called Joph? I don't think I've come across it either. Have seen the melee ring, but not earring.

I went to The Deep to kill a mob for my 1.5 last week. A trash mob saw through invis, and had to die. He dropped a Silverwing Mask. I got to the spawn area with no other trouble, but the 1.5 mob popped before I had cleared the area. After the fight, a trash mob dropped a shard for next level item, and the 1.5 mob dropped another Mask.

It's the Rng I swear. Was killing lots of mobs in perma but once I got over to the spawn area of the alchemist both shard and item dropped for both paladins.
