my shadow knight just hit level 70 and I am using https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31322 for a weapon and https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=33202 for a shild but was told some people that weapon and shield is gimp but I seem to be able to tank with it pretty well and maintain aggro any opinons on the matter would be greatly apperciated take into consideration I am not in a top raiding guild even though we do raid sometimes. I feel like if I am able to tank, maintain aggro and let the casters kill the mobs who cares am I wrong thinking that way. I might be able to get my epic 1.5 but doubtfully on 2.0 we currently just don't have the numbers!

Nothing wrong with your sword and shield. The problem lies with the people that tell you you're gimp, unless of course you suck at playing an SK.
My 65 sk was using a shield (the drop from Noble's Causeway) and Arcblade which worked very well until I was able to get a nice 2hb which happens to do more damage.
Lost some AC by dropping the shield, but gained dps meaning the mobs die faster meaning I take less damage.
It really depends on what gear is available to you but there is nothing wrong with using a shield and 1h weapon.

If you're looking for shadow knight advice of any sort I'd recommend heading over to the shadowknight boards. Gear specific information should go in the armory at the bottom of the main page.
As for the person that told you your sword and board are gimp; take it with a grain of salt. There's always better out there so don't worry about what they said. My sk uses the same sword from time to time and it suites me fine.

Life as a tank is rough. I see a lot of 65 to 72 pally, warrior, SK lfg for hours on end. EQ is getting more and more top heavy. With the lower guk armor drops there are casual tanks out there with 12k hps unbuffed! You didn't give your hps and ac. Is 7k to 8k around 2kac about right ? Your going to have a time tanking the newer content. If you want to continue your SK, I would make sure you had at least CA 8 CS 8 shield block 3 PE.
I soloed small grouped my 70 SK to 400 AA. I don't have any interest in TSS or SoF. I didn't see any reason to continue the toon.
