Over the last few days, I decided to work on a beastlord that I created a few weeks back. Up until yesterday, I worked in in the tutorial and then some in Crescent Reach on the pumas and bears.

Last night, after burning LOD on my main(s). I figured I would work the BST some more. She was level 20 at that time. After logging in, a cleric hit her with a 2hr temp, Then I figured I'd get my ranger over there to pop a little DS on her and heal when needed.

After about 2 hours, she was level 36. I gained 16 levels in two hours, that is NUTS! LOL. Some might could call this PLing, but the BST and pet did most the work, with the help of DS potion and a little DS shield from Ranger. I started with Rats and snakes, around 24 I moved to the Treants, around 27/28 I moved to the wasps.

At 36 I think there is a level or two still available quickly there at the Wasps, so I'll grab that tonight, then the BST can group up with my little Necro or Mage.

Of course now comes the fun part of catching up on skill points.

Between Crescent Reach, Blightfire and Stone Hive I leveled a SK to 47 in like 2 weeks...of casual playing.

Go kill the bixies in front of the Stone Hive entrance. They give awesome xp.

There are some treants in the swamp area that my little mage worked on after the wasps. They were dark blue still at 42 I believe and some are still dark blue at 44.

All 7 of my 30+ toons hunted and quested in Blightfire from about 20 to about 35 or so.

I hope you also took advantage of the quests in Blightfire Moors and Crescent Reach ...

One of the mucktail quests available from Smithy Bronson (I think it's called Mucktail Tools) gives a 75% weight reduction bag and the quest is pretty easy. The quests from the scout near the mucktails and from a dwarf in the Outpost give decent armor and weapons, too. The Witchlamp quests (available from Alchemist Ella, I think her name is, at the Outpost) gives good mana-supporting potions.

Yeup, camp out by the Stone Hive enterance in Blightfire and kill the bixies and a few wasps.

When the bixies turn light blue to you then go into the Stone Hive. The outer ring in the hive itself is awsome exp. With a bit of caution you can also pull mobs from inside the hive on the first floor.

The exp in these two places are insane.

Once you hit 45, head into Goru`kar and level/quest there. There are some very nice armour rewards to be had. Also, Blackfeather Roost at around 55 is good for kiters... the mobs might hit a tad too hard for a beastlord pet to handle, though... I was able to solo there at about 60 on my Cleric, but I wasn't able to handle the named npcs.

I heard that during the August patch they are changing the hotzones. The new hotzones will be Frontier Mountains and Tomorous Deep. That blows as I think Blightfire was a great idea for a hotzone. There is just so much to do there.

Blightfire is great experience. Like one poster noted, the swamp area in the middle has higher level mobs to keep leveling there or, once you hit 40 or so you can go back to the giants, spectres, deepwater goblins in S. Ro for good experience and PP. S. Ro is pretty easy kills for the experience.

:) I like Blightfire too. Even before it was a hotzone, it was awesome. Unless you have access otherwise to a charm(Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore) at level 30 that has over 100 hp I can see no reason for beginning chars to use ANY other zone, not with continual improvements available til the thing is over 400 hp

You're making me want to roll another alt!!!

It's not a hotzone anymore. I've actually been curious about how the experience is now that it's back to normal. Has anyone spent time there lately?

Even without the Hotzone tag, the zone gives pretty decent XP.

Just started a new alt and not being thrilled with the new hotzones I went this route:

tutorial to lvl 10
kurns tower to lvl 17
blightfire to lvl 39 (where i'm at now)

This is solo with no PL'er involved (although i always have temp/hos, and pots).
About 6-7 total played hours over last 2 days.

The XP in blightfire is still very good...started with the rats and snakes at CR zoneline. From there I moved on to the gnolls then leopards. At 32ish I went to the wolves and the white rats (i forget their name). I did a few of the griffons on the ledge as well. Most have turned lt blue but was still getting about 3% per kill when I stopped earlier. I haven't ventured into the swamp area yet.

I refuse to go back to LGuk as I spent way too much time there during the legacy revamp. I doubt I'll step foot into TOFS. I'll probably end up going back to old faithful in City of Mist to get to 50ish.
