Can someone take a moment and explain what this means and how or what you need to do to infuse armor? Thanks for your time in advance.

There is a square on your inventor screen for a power source. The sources are globes of different types which when equiped adds and subtracts stats.
Sources start out as murky then upgrade to foggy and other names.
I have only seen murky for sale in the bazaar.

Just checked. They are searchable by slot type in bazzar. There is a translucent source usable at 75.

You need a powersource:

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/search.html?q=energeian

Each powersource adds different stats, the lower ones are crafted with tradeskills, and the good ones are bought in Katta Castrum once you have sufficient faction, and an alternate currency called Orum.

The purity stat on infusible armor and weapons is a percentage of how much of the powersource's stats you will get when you equip it. Both armor and weapons will get stats, and weapons will also get a proc.

The more infusible stuff you have the faster the powersource will drain. When it burns out, you have to get a new one.

This is a page detailing the stats that each powersource adds based on certain purity values:

Hope that helps!

You can also buy purity augments to go into type 13, 14 slots to increase the purity on the item. With all the defiant gear out there, man you can burnout a power source fast.

Thanks very much for your answers its sort of helpful. I just checked my inventory screen and can find no square for a power source. Do I need all expansions for this to show up? Or am I doing something wrong?

You would need The Buried Sea expansion to use powersources. I believe the slot is next to the charm slot.
