My Enchanter has a 300 in research, but upon dinging level 16, my Berserker, Lizzieborden, just gained a point in Research. Obviously, this is not the purecaster variety of research, but what exactly is this? I have a hotkey for it, but clicking doesn't produce any messages or skill ups. Can someone explain to me what Research on a Berserker is?

I had heard rumors of melees being able to do a form of research for their tomes so it must have something to do with that. I never saw anything official or if it was even released yet but I would venture to say that's what it is for.

It most likely has to do with your zerker sharing a similar UI layout. I know alts of mine had hot buttons for skills they didn't get normally (bash, forage) but it was due to a UI file error from my main character.

I play a Drakkin Druid on Bertoxx Server; when I hit lvl 16, I also received a level 1/300 in Research. I do not have any alts that are normally able to Research, so I do not think it has to do with a UI layout.

This looks like it is a holdover from Test. Melee research is being worked on, so eventually you WILL be able to get that skill and DO something with it!
