Looking for a guild! <Stromm>Follow

#1 Jun 25 2008 at 3:01 PM Rating: Excellent
Well, I'm back, lol (Stromm Server). I've decided to go Woodelf Warrior this time around, and have been looking for a decent guild to join. I've looked through lists at Guild Portal, and at the Stromm (Yuku) forum, but every one that looks interesting seems to be dead or dying :(

I'm looking for a family guild, no raiding requirements, and primarily populated by adults or at least mature teens. Anyone have any suggestions?

Lol, all of EQ is mostly adults now. Not that that means they're necessarily more mature.

I'd point you toward Peoples of Doom (PoD), my guild that I don't play in, cept it's mostly higher level character's.

I'd hesitantly recommend Black Dragon Legion. I was in it before PoD started. It was cozy though not over-populated. The leader, Violettafire is a dear that looks out for her lower level guildies to some extent. Not sure how active she is any more though??

I'll take heat for this but I'd avoid Legends and Legacies...seems much server drama comes out of that guild.

Rosleck can probably give you other suggestions.

Check the bulletin boards in the Guild Lobby. The posts get cleared out regularly if not updated so they're usually fairly recent.

Ask those you see from Legends & Legacies. We are a very friendly guild. Unfortunately I can't give you very much info as I've only just returned(and had only just joined the guild before I was forced to leave last time), but there's always quite a few others playing when I log in, so I don't think we're dying quite yet.

Also, what level is your toon right now? Maybe I could quest with you with my main or one of my alts. Send me a tell, my main is named Meleagant.

also, because I only just now read Elinda's post...I haven't noticed much drama.

Yeah, we (PoD) are more of the 60+ (maybe more of 65+ even) variety, though a few have joined at low levels and caught up with us. I honestly can't think of a guild that would definitely have some lower levels who are really active. No real requirements on recruiting, though the raiding (100% optional stuff here) will tend to either be 65+ (DoN) or 68+ (Anguish) or just plain needing to be geared/leveled enough to have a fair chance of surviving an encounter (1.5 and 2.0 raids and such)

If you want to join your welcome too, there won't be a whole lot of low level grouping opportunities offered in the guild, but if/when you get around the 60s or so things open up pretty well. As for the guild environment, we aim for the relaxed approach to all things be it raiding or otherwise, and do our best to keep things enjoyable for all members.

Anyways, besides whats turned into about a blatant guild advertisement. =p

I know Wilderness Warriors has always had a large range of players but I was told by someone that the guild had many split off a couple months ago, unsure how this affected the guild as a whole.

I also noticed a new guild starting up and aiming for the lower crowd, Flex was the name I think. Of course the success rate of new guilds stink depending on how dedicated the leader actually is and on a million other things, but perhaps it would offer you the company of many other low levels even if only temporarily.

I would strongly agree with this.

2 Guilds I could reccomend would be Majestic Might and Friends Laughing. Last time I checked neither had mandatory raiding, were populated by mostly adults and were members of a raiding alliance. Only negitives would be if you were looking for a guild with 1 strong goal or one with out the hang up of a multi guild alliance. Other wise both are strong choices.

Lol, Sorry Drift.

I thought someone around here was in L & L. I wouldn't take my comment too seriously. L&L was, and likely still is, the biggest guild on the server, with lots of activity.

edit: Btw, the only real use of the Stromm board on the Yuku server is for tracking guild progression and some raid target coordination. You can look up guilds on EQPlayers though and see numbers and activity and what-not.

S'ok. To be honest, I only came back last week, so I could never know whether or not there was any major drama caused by by guild while I was gone. I'll still gladly recommend though that those searching for a friendly active guild consider checking us out.

Very handy thread, some good guild tips since I'm on Stromm as well.

I must say though, that guild lobby in POK is very interesting, a handy spot to either put up an application or find guilds that are looking for more. Ofcourse, there's no real way of knowing how good a guild is without joining and finding out the hard way.

Very true. There's a huge no-req guild on my server with a terrible rep. It also has some really good people in it --which is sad for them in a way.

About half our "people looking for guild" are joke entries. The "guilds looking" tab is a decent 10-12 at any given time.

If this is who I am thinking of shes awsome and allways selling pet toys in the baz. For a wile there I think I was putting her kids thru collage ( Norrath U ) with the amount of pet toys I buy from her. My NEcro is bound by her spot in the Baz so when I'm dead I can buy more toys and get back to it. Nothing like seeing " Awwwwww poor nekid dead lizard" after I zone in lol. Good people.

I have to look, but I have a spam in game e-mail from a guild on Stromm looking for memebers. I will have to add them to the list of guilds to advoid later.

Edited to add: I checked the e-mail spam I recieved and it was from L&L Definately advoid them.

Really? I'm going to ask about that later when I log on. That's just not right. Definitly not a cool way to do things.
