I have both the spear and the Kunzar, and the Kunzar procs way more often. The spear does last longer, but sometimes it doesnt go off. ( I actually dual wield them in hopes one will work) I have found even in the 50's that the Kunzar lasts long enough to get the job done.

Thanks for this reply... makes the spear way down my list of things to do.
It also occurred to me I could just try and stick to mobs that don't run.
Another option for snare would be Tserrina's Whip
