THUR: Off to a early start to the weekend. Drove Ohio to see Iron Maiden in concert. My first Maiden show was about 20-25 years ago. I had won a contest on their web site to go on stage and sing the chorus to Heaven can wait with the band. Got there several hours early. The wife had a operation on her leg a week prior so she was moving slow. The show was great and it was a dream come true to be on stage with the band that influanced me to learn to play guitar a long long time ago. There are pics but they are a little blurry as a 1 legged woman at a rock concert isnt really stable.

FRI: Started off with a unpleasent Doc appointment. Looks like my blood preassure is thru the roof so onward with more tests and pills. I hate taking pills. Dinged 78 on the DRU and ground out aa's on the NEC. Watched "Inside" French horror movie. I had never heard of it but it had good reviews. Not a bad thriller. A little cheesy like all low budgets but I liked it.

SAT: Ground out aa's on both the DRU and the NEC. The wife joined me with her Bard for a little wile with the DRU. We also took out out box duo's of Pally, CLR, WIZ & Bard and dinged 53 on each. I spent a chunk of the day in LoTR. I'm loving the quest system in that game its a blast. Watched "Blood sucking Paroas in Pittsburgh". Bad really really bad. I coundent make up my mind if they were trying to be awful on purpose for the laughs or they really sucked. Wife loved it.

SUN: Back to the AA grind on the NEC & DRU. Spent a little more time in LoTR. Watched 1/3 of season 3 of family guy.

Edited to add photo link its small and blurry. Im the Bald guy to Steve Harris's right.

Edited again to add the Weekend Whine(TM): CC. CC = Camp check. Its simple. Its easy. Just 2 letters and can stop a lot of issues. If you don't do a CC don't act susprised when I'm in your camp. Before taking a camp check to see if its open. DOnt show up pull the mobs around me and say "Oh I didnt see you....well I will just burn lesson and go......" Bite me. A CC fixes everything. Hell do a CC and I will respond that I'm willing to share the camp. Unless you show up and just try to take it.

Wow Ros!..grats...Smiley: grin

You should post pics even if they are blurry. Smiley: smile

What's your toon in LoTRO? I started a new alt, as I just wasn't diggin the LM I tried for an alt. Now I'm trying a dwarf hunter. Like the Hunter better I think (though she's only level 8), but still like my Minstrel best!

I actually logged into EQ Friday night. Chatted with old pals...it was nice. The Guild and Alliance seem to be going strong. I didn't actually play at all. Under pressure I said I 'might' make Sat's raid...but didn't. Smiley: frown

Friday had outpatient arthroscopic surgery on Leg. 3 hours later I was at Pt.
Did some LOd burn in Nadox with winjon and primrosex. Later in the night when I couldnt sleep watched tv, read, did some bank cleanup. Finally got 2 hours from 6 to 830 am Sat.

Saturday Played some more LOD burn in nadox and lod with cleric segundo and adeste in lavaspinner lair. Hopeing to forage/loot redcaps in lair for shaman alchemy.
Spent time with Johnwinnie doing alchemy making room in bank. Pt on leg, and a nap in the afternoon. The evening found me at a BSFS meeting, the Balticon 42 wrap up. Darn thing took 2 hours and I was hurting inleg and agitated so Elne and I called her daughter to please come pick us up. Read a bit of the paper then went to sleep.

Sunday
Woke up at 11. Made some coffe, iced leg, burned lod in lair. Read paper and took a nap. Burned Lod in nadox, got 2 aa's on druid and 1 on winjon.
Watched some tcm and then joined a guildie from Aude sapeer in taking jonwin and courtin to lair to burn lod and collect silks for don faction.

So...played my first LDON's ever...

A monk, an Sk, and cleric, doing Ldon's in Everfrost. Had a blast. Except for the traps, which I learned about AFTER getting the cleric killed. Great exp also. Did 2 Ldons ( boss mob) and went from 20 to 24 on monk ( with new guild, Redguards of Qeynos)

Also, main cleric got 63 and 9 Aa's. Man, the new Aa exp is great. I now have 295 wisdom at level 63 ( tops on the server)

All in all, fun weekend

Grats Rosleck, that's really cool!

No EQ for me, drove to Innsbruck for work on Thursday and stayed for the weekend. Did a high ropes course with friends (moving hand over hand and balancing between trees in 17m height). Today I got sore muscles all around, I'm getting old...

Tonight, Austria plays against Germany in the UEFA Euro 2008 for participation in the quarter-final, wish us luck!

I took my lvl 62 Shadowknight through Skyshrine just for giggles and because I knew some mobs deeper in were higher level than the lvl 40ish recommended Hotzone range. Was kind of fun just because I'd never fought in there before (was always on dragon faction) although when I transitioned from lt blue mobs to dark blue mobs, they because more than a handful in a hurry.

I did get some lower tier Defiant plate boots that made my old PoP Ornate boots look like someone took a **** on my feet. Gogo Mudflation!

Fri - Played around a bit and burned lessons. Cleric and SK made a few AA's and friends shaman is now 59.

Sat - Went to a graduation party for GFs cousin. Had a good time got home way late.

Sun - Recovering from graduation party. Then went to Tim McGraw concert. Got home real late.

So not much EQ time but that happens.

Played a bit with my paladin on Saturday, got a new level doing some quests. I was going to spend some time on Sunday to get a couple more levels, but some friends dropped in to play Risk.

FRI: Logged on the necro and went to NC, expected it to be camped but it wasn't, so I proceeded to grind out AAs. Got 6 in a little over 2 hours, not bad for not having lesson and having to wait on repops.

SAT: Had talked a guy I work with into coming back for at least the Living Legacy promotion. So I logged my necro and waited for him to log his druid. I headed back to NC and started grinding aas again. A short time later another necro showed up so I decided to invite him to group. Well kills went really fast so we decided to pull from another spot while we waited on pops. After that we always had 2 going and xp just flew by. Finally my friend logged on so we all headed to PoF and kited tables. Neither I or the other necro had ever been and we had a blast. Great xp and seemed like a diamond of some sort dropped every time.

SUN: My first Father's Day and I only got to see my daughter when she woke up and when she went to bed, as I had to work all day. We did enjoy the time we spent together, she ate her first waffle and later when I got home we shared a bowl of ice cream. Even though I didn't get to see her much sharing a bowl of ice cream with her made the day. Smiley: grin Oh and no EQ.

Hey. Could you make that picture a bit smaller? I can almost see the blurry people in it... ;)

Anyway. Grats on the Maiden show!

Didn't do much on EQ this weekend. Seemed like most of the hotzones were too "busy" for my wizard to get a group. He's at an awkward level where he's a bit higher then most groups want in Nadox, but too low compared to the average of most groups in BoT. And let's face it. Riwwi just plain sucks. I did get into one ok group, but it didn't last long and ultimately wiped when the guy three boxing the tank, cleric, and chanter went LD, right after telling the puller "pull lots!". Ooops... I was also able to solo some in Nadox waaay late at night when most of the PLers were asleep. Got a few AAs and a bit more leveling in (after realizing from the earlier incident that I wasn't quite far enough into my level).

Logged on my pally, and got into a decent group for awhile. Basically wiped out bees in BoT. Good exp actually. I did find something "odd", and perhaps explains why so many higher level folks are plowing the wings instead of up top somewhere. While I could have sworn that the mobs downstairs are easier and lower level then those upstairs, I think they put all the same named mobs on the same loot table in terms of defiant drops. Almost every drop I've seen downstairs has been elaborate, but all the drops from bees I've seen so far have been intricate. Just seemed strange, but there you have it. I'm guessing that the base level of the bees is right below the cutoff, while the giants are in a range which can include either. Just seemed odd...

Laptop self-destructed on Thursday (fix is pending). Fortunately a friend decided to loan me a "spare box" so I was in-game Saturday night. The spare box is several years older than my laptop but zones way faster, I suppose I should look into more ram.

Ground out a few levels on the warrior, have made it to 37 solo thus far. Runners are getting trickier though --especially if I am not buffed. Has been a fun side-project so far.

Helped guildies complete a full set of mesa armor on Sunday. Managed to spawn Ursala and Fantoma in the same area at the same time. Spider legs seem to be the bottleneck in that questing if you have the power to wipe out the PH mobs for the named quickly.

Finally looted the charm of lore drop from the potameid pond in Goru'kar Mesa... I have needed that one for ages. Zoned into Plane of Fire and was looking around. Looks like a fun place for the Necro to hang out once I learn the tricks (i.e., the horse near zone-in that sees invis).

Grovers, have you considered using the snare potions a shaman can make?
I still have a few balls of yarn with 4 snare charges in bank for jonwin and cleric. Have used them sparingly over the years. (Ball is quest reward for giving miranda her dice pouch. Pouch drops of prince in warrens and miranda is in kejeek village.)

Use snare pots on my necro? No. I do have a shaman with 300 alchemy so it wouldn't be that hard get them but I don't see a need for them on my necro. Since you did mention it though that would be handy for soloing with my shaman if I ever had to.

Just for the sake of inducing some guilt...we were most likely one priest class away from killing AMV and having a successful run on 5 anguish targets on the night...=p

Fri-Sat-Sun: Worked. It sucked. Just enough timebetween work and sleep to burn a couple Lessons.

I also saw the most elegant solution to a camp stealer in history. I was near the Farm in DSH (passing through, the farm ALWAYS has some group drama going on), and there was a group in the normal place, near the hill. They were pulling 10-15 at a time, and handling it with aplomb. Another group decided that without a camp check to move over to the windmill and pull mobs from right in front of the first group. Without fail, the CC argument started. The second group replied "there ARE no camps in EQ". Everyone knows SOE's stance on this, but players have an understanding... most of the time. The first group said "Oh, OK"....

And moved to their camp. Cleric standing next to cleric, slower next to slower, tank next to tank, etc. And began pulling 15-20 at a time, including snakes, cats and mechs. The second group FLIPS OUT about training them, and the first group simply said "Don't aggro them then". The second group was SCREAMING about them stealing their camp, disrupting their camp, etc. Guess what the first groups reply was? "There are no camps in EQ".

I laughed till I cried.

Lol, well congrats! I woulda been a liability. Those few mintues I was logged in I kept losing my view...I stared at the Guild Hall ceiling almost that whole time because I kept pushing the wrong buttons. (..and since the closest thing to a priest on my character roster is a 56 paly I won't feel too guilty..Smiley: wink)

My old EQ friend called me lasntight to say that they were enabling EQ accounts for a free month this month. I thought about installing just to say hello to the people I know, but I gave away my main to a guildy, I still have a 45 druid though on the same server. Would be nice but then I would probably get addicted all over again.

Lol, or mabye not. If you're used to the ease of games like LoTRO, EQ will seem clunky at best. Though druids are awesome beyond all other classes of all other games.

What server ya on?

You get cool free stuff. Smiley: smile

(it would also probably take a very long time to re-install ten expansions onto your puter.)

Comment was meant for me (as noted in other posts). Thanks for the reply!

Miranda and the bone dice is a good tip and reminded me about the sceptre of the forlorn (10 charge clicky from inventory snare) that also drops rarely in the Warrens. There was one going for 100p in baz last night.

I picked up a Gorewood staff for 222p (stun that procs @ 30) so that helps a bit.

I also did some digging through my old alts and got out a treant staff (procs root), only problem with it for the warrior is I presently do horrible damage with it if chasing a runner and waiting on a proc.

In 3 levels I can use the Kunzar Ku'juch I just acquired (necro snare proc). I am hoping it will please me once I get to test it out.

At level 50/51 I will have to look into a Sargasso Spear (procs embrace of the Kelpmaiden which appears to be a long duration snare). Not sure how long I feel like camping Siren's Grotto though...

Potions are certainly an option. I try to avoid depending on consumables but they are useful.
