Best way to play a MonkFollow

#1 May 14 2008 at 8:03 PM Rating: Decent
There are so many ways to play a certain class. I would like to know the best way to play a Monk or how you others out there play your Monks? Would love to hear your input.

Might I also suggest going to a monk forum? Is monkly buisness still around?

But if you really want to play a monk well, start eating simple food, wear woolen robes, and pray every 3 hours for at least a half hour. I have an extra Liturgy of the Hours if you dont have one yet. A vow of silence may be of help to you, and how do you feel about a true wilderness, isolation experience?

Yes I just searched and it is active.
Also whitman had the right of it in his reply. Though I have been told that trying to caast spells as a monk is very difficult.

My 65 iskar monk , Shutem Dowwn, FenninRo server, is a crazy pulling dps machine. He will pull until clerics are crying and the tank is actually trying to beat him down. Common attempts at druids rooting me have been noted also. There is nothing better than pulling , pulling, and yes pulling. When ya get high nuff level go to SSRA basement where the mines are and get yourself the bag that summons throwing fangs. Also as ya get higher and start doings AA, runspeed and combat fury and wep affintiy are fun. I go a lot of offensive AAs because for tanking, well voidance is fun ...and if I do get aggro there is always FD. Hope that helps some

Great pulling and killer dps, what more is there to know?
Drag mobs in, dps a bit, go and get more mobs /repeat.
Don't stop until the group cries.

My Monk is 75 for reference.

Always pull mobs to the Main Tank directly by simply running right over her/him.

Learn how to chain pull. The simplest explanation is to pull a mob, help kill it, FD if you have aggro, then go pull another mob before the first ones dies. Time it so that the mob in camp falls just as you bring the next one to the main tank.

I have a friend who plays a monk with really good gear...He tries to play a little game of outtanking a tank since he can tank most anywhere. It's quite funny how monk discs and AAs will easily steal tank agro.
