The game being dumbed downFollow

I agree with Illovich 100%.PoK emptied all the old world zones thus scattering all new players into the wind.Starting brand new must have been a shock when you log your first char on only to find absolutly no one was there to play with.Perhaps the reason those of us that started playing so long ago and got so addicted was because there were other people right there to say hello to.

I think the biggest dumbing down of this game, and most mmo's, is done by us, the players.

Think how much harder, EQ would be without Alla's or other cheater sites?

Lol, and EQTraders!

Could you imagine trying to learn a TS without it?!

Traveller's Map of Norrath - I secretly printed it out at work so it could be colored. It was my salvation.

LOL. I (original login Sept 1999) actually followed the "dirt path" graphic and sign posts all the way. And this was before I learned of the spell "Bind Affinity" since I was a stupid warrior.

I also remember creating my own maps before EQ Atlas came along (and some of mine were waaaaaay wrong). Many of my original zone information just contained a bunch of location numbers. /loc was vital to travel in the early days of EQ.

Regarding Allakhazam and quests, I have a couple notebooks at home full of quest text and notes. Allakhazam was godsend in saving my tons of time from writing stuff down. The same can be said for EQ Traders.
