OK; I am the one inviting people in he group ( actually, group of two ), I have the leadership exp on, but I am getting no leadership exp. what am I doing wrong?
You only get leadership experience when there are 3 or more people in the group. You may also have to have at least 3 people in the group all in the same zone and close enough for them to all receive the xp message.
The third person does not have to be in the zone btw. I often see people recruiting soloers or bazaar sellers into their groups so that they can earn leadership xp.
Edit: I'm wrong...all three people have to be in the zone. ;)
I don't think that is correct. It may be so the leadership abilities can be used but I doubt lead xp can be gained with only two in range. I have three characters with max lead aas and I have noticed that three people must be grouped and they must be within a certain range for xp to be gained.
You will notice as the leader of a group that when an experience-giving mob dies you get two experience messages. One is "You gain party experience!" and the other is "You gain leadership experience!" I have never noticed the second message with only two nearby.
Mfbrownbear and Sprucecln are correct, the people that I see recruiting soloers or bazaar traders are doing so to use the leadership abilities, not to gain leadership experience.

Or, they're recruiting them in order to solo/box TBS group instances.
It used to be that you couldn't even use the leadership abilities unless 3 people were in the zone, but I recall when they loosened that up so people could get more use out of the abilities. Now I think you still need 3 people in the group to use the abilities but they can be used while in seperate zones.
It makes sense though that you can't get leadership xp without 3 people all within range of the normal "you gain group experience" message range. Two people together may be a group but one person leading another isn't really going to hone your organization and leadership skills.
