thanks for the replies to my post. I am currently wokring my way to be able to play eq. I do have one more question: I have a character on another account that my dad played on and i was wondering if i would be able to pull that character off a banished account

Not without a lot of money. You can transfer a character from one account to another, I believe, through Sony's Character XFer service. However, I believe both accounts have to be active (which means you'd need to renew your father's account's subscription, and THEN pay the fee to transfer).
Warning!
If you activate your account, and the account name is different than the one your dad had you WILL NOT be able to transfer the character.
I ran into this problem 6 years ago now, so maybe things have changed. I finally told the then teen she would have to get an pay for her own account, but I would pay transfer fees so she could move the two toons on her mom's account to her new one. Sony would not allow the transfer as toons may only be transferred to accounts held by the same person. (The teen had registered her account under her name, and going back trying to re register under Elne's name didnt work.)

I just noticed the OP said a BANISHED account.
I would be really supprised to see sony allow anything to do with an account that had been banished. But then they are a for profit company.
