Shroud Info?Follow

#1 Apr 26 2008 at 6:05 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all,

I have been trying to find some info about shrouds but have been rather unsuccessful. Hopefully someone here can give me a nudge in the right direction or know the answers.

I have seen a database that listed many unlockable shroud types/classes but I am wondering how do you unlock the later forms/classes in a particular "family"?

For example: Under Undead, you start with Skeleton Wizard but the following are unlockable:

Zombie Fighter
Scarecrow Mind Bender
Spectre Ethereal Stalker

How can someone unlock the other three forms?
Do they have to be done in order?

Also, does your unshrouded class gain any experience while you are shrouded or lose any if you die while shrouded? If so, any idea on the % of what might go to your unshrouded class?

http://applets.crgaming.com/everquest/spiritshrouds/ is where I found a database of all the shrouds in case anyone else was interested.

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

30 Dark Elf Necromancer
10 Froglok Shaman
7th Hammer

You gain and lose xp in unshrouded form while shrouded.

To unlock the later forms of the shroud "families," shroud into a form in that family and kill for experience.

You have to kill mobs that give experience to unlock the next shroud form - no matter what shroud level you choose. So it's a lot easier to unlock the next shroud form when playing lower level. Shroud down to lvl 10, get some healing and skinspike potions, go to the pit in Field of Bone and bring havoc to the mobs.

Shrouds have to be unlocked one after one in the given order. As Quadkit said, you lose exp on your "real" character when you die in shroud form (don't know if it's a fixed amount, though...).

There is more to shrouds than just preserving buffs. The sneak ability is a goodie often used on tasks like Wanderlust or Slipgear's. If you unlock the Evil Eye Psion, you get the chanter ability to charm mobs, very useful for obtaining the Overthere hammer (Worker Sledgemallet). When a whole party shrouds down, you get access to easier LDoNs or DoNs (you can unshroud after taking the mission and slaughter light blue mobs).

I seem to recall it being something like... 4 kills on dark blue mobs to get 1% towards the next shroud. I just ran around North Qeynos and one/two-shotted everything in sight. Had the next shroud unlocked rather fast.

Isn't this just another EQ urban legend? Has anyone ever tried this?

This is not an EQ urban legend, it works.
