Contemplating Plane of GrowthFollow

Thinking of messing around in Plane of Growth for some silly gear and the simple experience of having done it.

As a Drakkin Necromancer should I be worried about Tunare hating me (perhaps I am already hated...)? I could see this faction mattering for home city or perhaps epics for a few classes, but really what are the implications so many expansions later?

I am level 65 right now so not sure I could solo there (I am aware of the protectors on zoning in). Some of my regular group are good elf-types and don't want to mess faction (understandably)but might be willing to play their alts.

Would people that have done growth anticipate the following group having success:

All dark elves but my 65 necro, 66 necro, 66 wizard, 55 cleric. Obviously one problem is if the mobs aren't kitable the pets have to tank.

And finally, can anyone confirm if fellowship campfire works in PoG?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Drakkin should be fine but I think necromancers are KoS to Tunare and most of her followers, even if the necro is agnostic (if that's possible).

At your level you should be fine unless overwhelmed by adds or your cleric gets level aggro.

Good luck, I enjoyed my first visit to PoG.

I'm fairly certain you will be KOS, too. I recall (way back, could've changed since) that even high elf wizards with Sol Ro as a diety started at either dubious or threatening.

I made the mistake of taking my high elf (agnostic Magician, started apprehensive) there once; she was kos in Kelethin, to certain NPCs in Felwithe and throughout the world (such as the ranger/druid epic 1.0 start NPC in BW) after that night. The faction can be fixed via the muffins for pandos quest in WFP, though it takes a LOT and I don't believe the wolf form trick works anymore.

You should be able to handle it. I wouldn't recommend fear kiting, probably aggro bouncing between the wizzie and necs would work better. No idea about the camp, sorry.

Read up on a protector of growth. These can be annoying as you they will come to you if you are KOS (and not invisible) in the zone. I haven't been there in a while, but here is a quick history:

1. When the zone was released, these had zone wide aggro.
2. There was a time that these guys would get stuck at there spawn point and not run to you.
3. That was fixed, so it was back to zone wide aggro.
4. The zone wide aggro was dropped.
5. The zone wide aggro was added back in.
6. No idea the current status.

If there is still zone wide aggro, every 25 minutes or so (after their death), these guys will add. Annoying by today's standards. It was a raid wrecker back in the day if you weren't ready for them.

This is a raid zone; therefore, every mob is tagged as raid. This means that OOC regen is 5 minutes instead of 30 second. The necro pet with summoned gear should be able to tank, but aggro control might be a problem. Once you clear a little space, kiting shouldn't be a problem. Some pulls are easy singles, but there are some areas that the mobs are clustered together and would have to be split. I have no idea if pacify would work.

Back when I was just a wee halfling rogue and the EQ world was not quite so old, I got a port to the plane of growth to lfg for some drop I wanted. I decided to camp and try again the next day as the zone was empty. When I logged back in, I then learned there is no way to leave the zone except porting and I spent near two hours trying to find a druid to come to PoG and port me out.

Thank you for all the informative posts. Having browsed the PoG threads I felt I had better ask in a more current-trafficed area. You have all helped me get a good sense of what I am in for. I will have to direct my regular group mates to this thread and see what they think of the idea now.
