Cleric 1.0 Epic Quest?Follow

Has anyone done the Epic 1.0 for the Cleric? How long did it take you to complete it? My friend is currently entertaining the idea of getting it. They are currently level 53.

I did the Cleric 1.0 a long long time ago on my main long before the days on soloing it came along.

IMHO it is the most useful of all the epics out there but keep in mind there are a few time sinks involved. I still shudder when thinking about shards.

I have heard that. It is not the best part of the quest, is it? I will have to hunt them down later. lol

Just thought of this... Is she going to have any problems with Nagafen's Lair (Solusek B)... seeing how she is level 53?

There shouldnt be any problems with doing the part in Naggy's lair. Your not killing anything there, just doing a turn in. The timesink's are a pain though. Isat for 12 hours in lake rathe waiting for King begurgle to spawn. Others I know of spent way less.

The seeker in tower of sol ro my cleric solo'd at 56. Was a tough fight, I pulled him to the entrance of zone so as not to get aggro from other mobs in there. The seeker is 55, so mayube bring a friend to tank.

The only other time consuming part is gathering the pearlescent shards in skyfire. Easiest solution is to get a group and go. Higher the levels, means you can pull more. It is common for people to go there and pull 20 or so at a time, the odds are good you will get one in that bunch. My cleric had all 4 shard in like 30 mins from pulling that way.

ok,... so the level 52 cap on naggy lair is only if you go far enough to kill? interesting... I will probably have my pally helping the cleric out... at least until the shards part, but she has a guild that will easily assist her with that part. She got into one of the oldest running guilds on quellious server, started in 1999.

The level restriction is ONLY for the Nagafen encounter itself. Once you cross the arch into Naggy's lai and gain aggro your level will be checked.

Otherwise, everything else in Sol B is fair game. Even the giants protecting the enterance to Naggy's lair.

They problem you will have in SolB at 53 is that there are mobs you will have to kill to get where you are going. Unless of course you have friends to take (or boxes) to take with you.

Over all the cleric epic is very easy these days. With just a little luck with the camps it can easily be done in a weekend. It is also one of the best epics in the game, one that the cleric will carry and use (even when no longer equipped regularly) for their entire EQ career. So definately worth doing.

Thank you all for the responses I have gotten and especially for the information about the cap being only on the naggy encounter. I will definitely have to help her go after this. lol

A litte more on the cap...

For Naggy and Vox, if you get on either of the mob's aggro list, there is a level check. If you are level 53 or higher, you will be teleported back to the zone line (as if someone evacc'ed or succored you).

No, for the Sol B part, at level 53 solo you will have some problems getting past the giants that are in the area. If the giants are not up, you can run and hang out on the ledge (near the turn in) and be free of aggro. I doubt anyone trains the giants to this area. The giants are on a 6 or 8 hour spawn cycle, and the turn in guy is on a 24 hour cycle. You could get lucky and show up and there not be any giants but the turn-in guy is up.

My advice would be to start the epic now at level 53. There are many, many steps that you need to collect items. Some of the lower level collections could be done now. Collecting the pearlescent shards would actually net some decent experience at level 53.

Overall, the cleric 1.0 is one of the easiest quests since it doesn't require travelling to Fear, Hate, or Air. The time sinks invloved suck though.

Took me about a week but I had my 75 pally with me.Getting those pearls in skyfire took the longest.3 dropped within 3 hours then it took 2 days to get the 4th.Took about 6 hours for the mob to spawn in sol A which was pretty boring.

ength of time depnds n drop rates. By far the most time was Skyfire for the shards. If you invis holds up you can go by most mobs in sol b with out fighting. Myself took the cleric at 60? and a mage warrior for company. No problem

SolB is easy. Just use some cloudy potions, go through SolA to the zoneline near Gimblox, and then zone into SolB. Jump into the lava and swim to Ragefire. You shouldn't aggro anything, even though the giants see invis.
