Ranger AA's?Follow

#1 Feb 28 2008 at 1:24 PM Rating: Decent
I have a friend that has a level 66 Ranger, (Don't ask me how they got it to 66, lol.), but they were wondering what AA's would be more important for the ranger class, of course after Endless Quiver. i know Run3 is important for Rangers and the such, but at a lost as to what to tell them after that. Any suggestions I can pass along?

Innate camo rocks (5 aa points iirc).

Archery master 3 will double ranged damage. (3/6/9)

Combat Fury for melee crits.

Combat agility and combat stability, because dead rangers do 0 dps. (Get agility first, as rangers' avoidance is much better than their mitigation.)

I'm sure there are a bunch of others people can toss up, but these are just some off the top of my head before I run out the door. I'd probably rate these as pretty high priority for a ranger.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I have only been playing, as time permits, for about 4 months, so AA's are still new to me i will pass on the suggestions.

Ensnare
Origin
Shared Camo
Ambidexterity
Double riposte
Physical Enhancement
Ferocity
Weapons Affinity
Precision of the Pathfinder
Mystical Attuning
Mnemonic Retention

There are more, but these have very good utility no matter what type of Ranger you happen to be.

Innate camo is definitely worth it. Basically, it's like carrying an infinite stack of Cloudy Potions around with you at all times... it can be cast indoors, outdoors, instantly, while moving, etc...

Run3 isn't so important for Rangers, since SoW and SoE outdo it. Archery Mastery and Endless Quiver are must-haves for kiters.

Sweet... new advice. hehe Ty for the response. I can see your point about Run3, especially since it doesn't stack with speed modifying buffs.

Headshot can be a BEAUTIFUL AA to get. Combine this with the "Hail of Arrows" spell from DoDH, and you've got a ranger that can carve SWATHES of mobs down. If thy're green. But believe me, the volume of kills more than makes up for the small amount of xp per kill.

Even at 62, without HoA, I've been getting pretty decent aaxp with headshot just plowing through light blue and green mobs in nurga and acrylia. It's only about 2% aaxp per kill, but they drop so quickly it adds up fast. I average about an aa in 45 minutes solo, which seems pretty decent to me. It ends up being about the same xp as kiting in Vxed, where each kill gives me 14% aaxp, but takes about 5 minutes to finish.

Plus, I can haul in tons of acrylia for fletching, gems, and other vendor/bazaar junk.

Does anyone know if you still have to obtain 18 archtype points before you can begin your class points. The game has been letting me skill up Archer Mastery but I don't have archtype points yet. So I'm afraid the AM won't take effect until then. Anyone know?

There are no longer any requirements on AA's like you mentioned. Most have prerequisites or level requirements.

Also, run3 or run5 is absolutely essential IMO, SoW/SoE last quite a while but they can easily fade or get dispelled.

IMO Get Run3/Run5! SoW and SoE do not work inside, Run3/Run5 do.

A great site for everything ranger is www.eqoutrider.net. Lots of great people there and a wealth of information on what it is to be a ranger and how to get there.
