Returning to EQFollow

#1 Feb 27 2008 at 8:39 PM Rating: Decent
I'm returning to EQ after about 2 years of not playing. I pretty much forgot everything, so I started up a new character to get the hang of things again. I wanna start playing my 46 Shaman again, and now I'm not really sure where to look for something to do. I read the sticky thread about returning players, but it doesn't have any hints for toons over 16. And every time a new expansion comes out, there seems to be a new cool thing to do for XP. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Nope nothing new or cool. Read some of the other threads about coming back, and the did you know thread.
Groups can be found in the hot zones usually.
Quests are still around. You may want to go to Cresent Reach for the nice content there, and gear for you beginning toons.
Monster Missions, mostly the Dain mission in Icefall Palace get a work out from people doing AA or Exp grinding.

Over to the left, under zones, is Hot Zones, take a look at those, and read what people are saying bout them. While your there, take a look at the available quests in those zones.

As he said, look over the many threads that have basically asked the same thing you have. You will find some really good advice there. The one started by RennyKat (I am very toasted right now, so please dont expect me to remember how to spell her handle, and I might not be able to spell it when sober anyway, as it took me 25 mikes or so to just type this) is really good.

What is now considered a 'hot zone'? I don't see many people taking advantage of the Dungeons expansion pack anymore. BB isn't packed. Hardly anyone is in the Plane of Knowledge compared to how it used to be.

Curious, though, what server do you play on?

As for LDoNs, people still do them, but it seems they no longer sit in BB, SRo, and so looking for groups. They form their groups elsewhere, like PoK, guild lobby, etc, and travel there. They are still being done though. Now that I am sober, but with a massive hang over, I can tell you to hit the TSS zones appropriate for your level. They are pretty good zones.

From what I understand, ever since they suspended buff timers in the Guild Lobby people now hang out there instead of PoK. GL is always hopping.

And now it looks like they are gonna give us some new hot zones. Have fun in Ahkeva Ruins or Skyshrine.
