I'm pretty sure you can transfer off of FV (for the $50 fee) but you wouldn't be able to transfer back. I could be wrong though.

Unfortunatly, transfers are not allowed to or from the FV server. FV and Test are the only servers that have that rule, I believe.

There are no transfers allowed from the FV server. Furthermore you may only have one character per account on that server, just fyi.
Due to this rule, you can not try out different characters (well unless you delete the one you have) and will more or less be stuck with the charcater you choose.

It seems to me that some people would like to be able to transfer away from FV (at least on the eqlive forums) due to a low population, but if you like to solo this would be the perfect server, with all loot avaliable in the bazaar :)

Since we are talking about rolling a character on Fir. Vie...

How come I lag like mad on that server (whenever I have tried a character there) but am alright anywhere else? Anyone else experience this or is it Karma keeping me from F.V.?

My computer is not ancient, and I run some graphic things down (i.e., spell effects)and I am generally lag free aside from big crowds and TSS.

Not sure about the lag, Snailish. I lag pretty badly on FV, but, then again, I lag pretty badly on Bristlebane too.

As for most people on FV wanting to transfer off... I've definitely wanted to. The low population is killing the server, and I know many others who would love to be able to transfer. Many of my friends have simply quit the game because the idea of starting from scratch on a new server and abandoning their main on FV that they've worked so hard on simply isn't an option. Joining my raiding alliance has helped to keep me entertained on FV, but it's still difficult at times and I do still wish I could transfer off the server.

because of the rules alowing major no-trade loot to be tradable. you can make your character very uber. and the transfer off to other servers and out do all those who worked so hard.

i do think they should alow transfers . but with no gear nor money, you'd have to make freinds or farm your self for new gear.

but at the same time i don't think it would be fair for someone who leveled so easy on FV to come to the other servers without a leveling penalty.
i think it would be fair to remove X levels if above lvl 51. the aa's mainly

eg. if your character was lvl 60 with 100 aa's . transfer to lvl 55 with 50 aa's

or just transfer all under lvl 51 as thier lvl and those from 51-65 come back to lvl 51. those lvl 66-80 back to 65.

or the easiest way witch might help save the game. make all but progression servers have same loot rules as FV and alow transfers. even merge some again.

i miss this game been gone 6 months. i was paying for 6 out of my 8 accounts per month for almost a year. i like the card game loot idea helped me want to play again. but still i'm sick of farming weeks just to buy the next lvl of armor.

if it wasn't for station access on 2 of my accounts that i play all the other soe games, i think i'd never come back to eq. but i really do miss it.

i have 6 accounts so i can make my own groups as there's nomaly less then 100 players online late night when i can play. and out of those players their all in thier 60-80's and all my 42 characters are lvl 20-52.

It happens. Its not suposed to but it does. I personally transferred my monk off FV for the 50.00 but it was a naked transfer. I do know of people who have at various times slipped thru the no transfer clause to or from. It however is not suposed to happen and I would not reccomend you doing it based on a few people getting away with it.

Seems to me you are looking to start on FV, buy plat, buy the cool gear, then lave for a blue server. Lots of luck.

If you think leveling on FV is easy, you're sorely mistaken. The lack of a lower level population makes grouping nearly impossible. It's possible to solo to 65 where grouping picks up again, but incredibly difficult. Yes, you can buy just about any gear in the bazaar, but unless you bought platinum, you'll never be able to afford it at low levels. Fortunately, the new tradeskill items sell well in the bazaar, which makes money a bit easier to come by.

I agree. If that's your plan, I'd suggest going elsewhere. We have enough of those on this server - we don't need any more.
