Parsing DPSFollow

Is there some dps parsing program that will allow you to see ALL the damage done to a mob? Maybe you have to get some AA to show spells cast or etc??

What is the best parser you've found?

Only your own damage can be accurately parsed. Ranged DPS depends on your proximity to the mob and the person doing the damage, you can't see damage take from damage shields other than when you are hit and your own damage shields. I think they've turned others dot damage on now, so you can at least see the huge Necro dot dps, but I'm not positive about that, since i keep dots in imy trash window and rarely look at it.

Also, Thrown / Archery damage is reported 2 different ways, and even for yourself you will only see the hit damage if close enough to cast spells on the target, but at any range, you see the non-melee hit damage, which can be confusing to parse.

Proc damage is also difficult to parse, but is possible. The damage portion only shows up as non-melee so you have to coordinate the proc message with the damage report to tell what kind of damage it is. Same goes for spells versus thrown / archery damage.

Again, proximity has alot to do with whether you'll be able to see the damage or the proc / spell casted message also.

I'll let others give recommendations on parsers.

Yther is correct. The most accurate DPS numbers will always come from your own parse. The damage messages use the /say distance which isn't always far enough to get everyone's damage messages. For grouping 95% of the time you will have all the info in once parse.

The parser that I use (as well as most of my guild) is Gamparse and you can find it at http://gambosoft.com/forum/

Enjoy!

Xalp is a great caster parser. I know many melee use Xalt which if you use the most current will pick up spell damage and pet damage. However even with that the caster damage is typically off by 200 DPS. As everyone has already posted self parsing is the most accurate.

Keep in mind that if you play a kite class the parser will not show damage if you are 2 far away from the mob you are kiteing.

Took me 3 different programs and a discussion with the maker of one of the parsers to figure this out.
