Returning Player, and have few QuestionsFollow

#1 Feb 13 2008 at 9:01 AM Rating: Default

I have a few questions.

I see and remember the problem of looting. I keep inspecting myself. I thought there was a command to target the nearest corps, then type /loot.

Is there a way to see what buffs party members have?

Is there a way to see what dots/spells you cast on mobs?

Is there a way to see HP as numbers as well as %?

Befallen is gone or revamped as it is that I have heard and higher level. I happened to find that that was a killer place to level and get bone chips for my new necromancer. Is there a new place that has tons of skellys that drop bone chips? (again returning but on new server old toons are PVP and not going back to PVP, as well as back then 100pp was a load of money)

You could always make a hotbutton to function as you described (for the most part anyways, some mobs this would be no good for.)

By making a new hotbutton in the Actions window, putting "/target a" in the first line, then "/loot" in the second. If lag causes this to not function well you could always put a small pause command in the second line and move the loot one to the third. (its honestly been months and months since I set up a pause command but i think it just uses "/pause #")

No real way of seeing your partys buffs without asking.

Likewise with spells, although using multiple chat windows you could filter spell information that is important to you to its own window so you could easily see it all without being lost in other battle/chat spam.

Seeing mob hp as numbers? I have no clue there. As far as your own that is displayed, custom UIs seem to offer a wide array of customization on things like that and I've seen many that offer a heads up display of your own HP without having to open your inventory to see. Heck, for all I know the things I mentioned as not possible above are possible with different UIs, I've never used anything but the EQ defaults.

Befallen high level? Unless it used to be extremely low level it should be the same Befallen you remember. Befallen Mob list

Are you in 3rd person view when looting? First person is much easier. Also, click on the mob's feet to loot. It seems to help the targetting problem.

I don't belive Befallen has changed, but another good place that's about the same level range is Kurns Tower off the Field of Bone. You'll get enough bone chips there to last you a life time!

Couple quick notes to add to what Saeel and MissMandie have mentioned.

There is a leadership AA that lets you see what buffs other party members have. Called Inspect Buffs if I remember right. There are a couple ranks and you need to be in a group with 3 or more people to use it.

No to actually seeing the spell gems or a spell listing of spells on a mob.

No to actually seeing the HP values of mobs. %'s can be displayed over the mobs head with the Show NPC Health Leadership AA. Again, must be in a group of 3 or more. The actual numbers for mob hitpoints have never been released by Sony.

Befallen hasn't been revamped. The Commonlands was revamped so the zone-in to Befallen has been moved slightly from where you remember. But it's still on the South wall in the sand dunes. Remember to watch out for the Sand Giants that can roam there! Smiley: grin

sorry I ment see your HP like in a setting that I'm missing, not mobs as I know that is not posible.
and thanks on the other things.

1 more question, is it lvl 10 or 15 befor you can do the LDON? I'm comming from WOW with some friends I met there and I want to run it a bit so we all can get used to EQ again, and they get there frist look at it.

For some reason I'm wanting to think the very minimum for LDoN levels was 17 or something.

You can always see your HP numbers by looking at your inventory (press i). If you want to see it on the GUI without having your inventory open then you will need to use a custom UI modification. Take a look at this thread ( A few questions (New Player)
) for my post on where to go to mod the UI.

For LDoN's, as far as I remember, you need to be level 15 to obtain the Adventurer's Stone and you need to be level 20 to request a LDoN mission. So if one of your party members is level 20 then they can request the mission for the rest of the level 15 group members. (If that makes sense.)

Hope that helps.
