People still play.Getting a group is still tough sometimes. There is more powerfull gear now for lower lvls that makes soloing viable for every class now.If you left cause you would spend all night LFG,that part hasnt changed.

Eq is still great.

The rule is always,if you cant find a group start one.

I really don't understand people who sit lfg, but don't want to start anything..

I've never had a problem starting a group.

We should have had 4:1 server mergers 2 yrs ago when WOW ascended. About once a week we get a player returning from there but it's still a good night, when out of 850 on the roster, we have 30 people on. And that's Quellious' largest guild.

Stromm seems to have a fairly healthy population, although it can still be tough to find a group at low levels. I'm guessing that will be a bit of a problem on any server though. Once you get into your 50s or 60s it's much easier to find a group.

Can't really speak for any other servers, Combine might be good.

Stromm is always mentioned when that question is asked --it has the rep of being a healthy/active server. I'd make a character and log in.

I'm on Bristlebane and find it busy enough for me. When I came back I found my old server to be quite dead at the times I play so I moved to BB. If I wasn't happy with BB I'd give Stromm a go. That's my two cents.

I'd agree, though I do think a server merger should be in the near future. Wouldn't it be wild for EQ to have to add a server?

I remember when they did have to add servers. Back in 2000.

Terris Thule, Ayonae Ro and Drinal were split off from other existing servers but were they technically new?

Tholuxe Paells and Zebuxoruk were definitely new servers added after release. Ah, the golden years.

Stromm was a new server too, created in 2003 iirc.

Last server I remember being created was Morden Rasp (and Maelin?)

I think it would be interesting if they merged the old existing servers and then opened up some new ones. Put a poll up on login to server "do you think this server needs a merger?" for one week and only merge the servers that vote yes.

I don't think all servers need a merge, but my experience is that some servers are much deader than others.

Suppose 8 servers became 4 this way, then open up 2 new servers. One with transfers allowed right away and one with no transfers for 6 months. Repeat the process in a year or two. I bet both versions of new servers would be busy.

The "we need mergers" crowd is often vocal, making it vote dependant on login per account makes sure it is the true feeling of the server.

*the one server I played on should probably get to vote "should this server be disbanded and all accounts get a free move to the regular server of their choice"

I'm honestly not sure I'd want to see a merge involving Stromm. At least not right now anyways. The population could stand to be a bit larger I would say, but I wouldn't really want to see it doing anything even near doubling up overnight.

Sure it would help in the low population aspects of things, lower levels/late night and what not. But at least to me, during the prime hours the numbers arent too short of just about right.
