I moved to a new server and a friend of mine is powerleveling me... Currently I'm a level 33 drakkin bard with decent gear (10kpp twink), and I'd like to get, well, better gear...

So what are some quests / mob gear that I can get? Weapons, armor, the works. I know about the level 45 quests in... Uh, the name of the zone escapes me but they have +hp regen/mana regen gear and it's just a matter of killing bears, wolves, etc.

Also, where can I go to level up my defense? I'm 35 now and I need fast hitting (For low damage) light blues that don't stun (Preferbly).

If you go now at 33, the needlites in echo caverns can help with defense. They hit really fast but not too hard, get shammy buffs and a temp before going. At later levels, you can /duel a pet class and fight only their pet, you get offensive and defensive skillups from pets.

As for gear, use the quests by zone link to the left of this post and check out Crescent Reach, nice stuff in there.

The drop rates arent great per say, but if you pick on many of the loot dropping named in the moors you will have some luck. I've geared a cleric I play around with on test server during patch days up with nearly a full suit of this.

Best low lvl gear you can get at the moment is TSS gear, and there are no TSS armor quests for the lvl range mid-20ies (Kimem) to mid-40ies (Madu) - and none for mid-50ies to mid-60ies, either. My advice would be to get single TSS gear drops or to buy/produce DoN Cultural armor appropriate to your level (besides other Bazaar gear until you reach the 40ies).

If you are powerlevelling why are you worried about gear?

Depending on where you are powerlevelling to the answer would change. If you are not playing under 50 without high-level help gear isn't going to make much difference really.

At 55 you can get the old planar armor (but better is out there), DoN cultural is decent at 55 and there's Energeaic (spelling).

At 60 many req level stuff is dirt cheap (because its only good for a few levels). 63 opens up another set of cheap baz gears, especially the attunable stuff.

At 65 you can spend millions on the new SoF drops (with current baz pricing --expect that to drop once people push deeper)

70+ people are nuts about the new cultural (for the moment).

So for example, if you are powerlevlling to 65 from 35 to play with your friends (not my path, but a common one)do you really need better than the Goru'Kar Mesa quest armor? You can get this set in a night with higher level help, and not that much longer as a 40-50s character soloing it (Fantoma can be tough at level).

If you are only going to be in the 50s a few days... not much point investing time and/or platinum to gear up in stuff you'll toss upon dinging 60, 65 --whatever.

My old enchanter would have loved having the level 45 Mesa gear at level 65... it would have been a huge upgrade compared to what a casual could get back then. Or to put it another way: level 65's used to solo in gear worse than you'll have at 45.

The spell vendors near the augment pool often have the infused materials and patterns on them. Bristlebane's baz was so flooded with patterns for a while that the majority of slots were selling for 3-5p. Chest and Sleeves used to be a pain but even they were in the 100-500p range.

When I first wanted this set, I had a terrible time getting the sleeve pattern. A few weeks ago a ran around killing the named and ended up with more sleeve patterns than anything. So my experience is dumb luck wins.

If you get the wrong infused materials you can often /ooc in the zone and trade with someone else doing the same thing. Or offer to buy from people hunting, one day I was offering 10p per infused silk (going rate in baz at the time) and a kind person gave me a small stack (wouldn't take coin). I also succeeded in buying several from random people.

It is also worth checking the vendors in Crescent Reach and sometimes even Guild Lobby. I have found the infused materials in both locations on occasion.

Thanks all, and was to why I'm looking for armor - I need to raise my defense while I'm still low, and the person powerleveling me is only able to do it once or twice a week, so inbetween those times I'd like to play on my own as well. (And as such, I don't want to waste money on baz gear I'm only going to use for a few days)
