I am really getting tired of getting tells from several different outside vendors telling me how great there service is, and that they will power level, safe and secure..or buy our plat....blah blah blah....it's bad when you jump into say Crescent Reach and there is some **** there OOC'n every two seconds with it, in those cases you just avoid the zone. But when I get them constantly in tells that's intrusive and their accounts should be closed.
I've tried petitioning, but that process is so ineffective and trying to find a GM is all but impossible. So I am going to post this in hopes that some one with who has the authority to make the change will.
I will update this post with a list of those who spam me, and to which web pages the are affiliated with.
For the Record, I am on the Povar server, and the ignore list from these jerks is rather lengthy.

Please dont update the list. We all play games that have spammers. We know what its like and we dont need to be reminded.

If you go in /roleplay (doesn't hide guildtags) and leave the global channels (i.e., general) you will get very few /tells from the plat spammers in my experience.

Next time you get the random /tell do a /who _______ (name of spammer). Likely they are a level 1 in the tutorial using the /who command to find people to spam.

Problem is these spammers are using the “Free Trial†part of the game.
SoE does put the hammer down on them. They just open another, and another account.Like was said on other post about this subject is one should beware of the spy bots that come from logging on their site. So you are in a damn if you do, damn if you don’t situation. I do not want SoE to stop the Free Trial. It is the only thing a, “Outside of Gameâ€, player can experience what we all have been enjoying.
Just remember to delete the names once in a while because they won’t be used for a while,by them, but Never know when a real player, using that name, may need your in game guidance.
Only tool I know to use is the “ignore†command.

I posted the soulution in the SOE forum but doubt it will get to the right people. SOE legal needs to sue the websites that sponsor the spam for not paying SOE for advertising in the game, I recommended a dollar per mail sent. Plus the lawsuit would give EQ some much needed publicity.

I dont find the spam annoying at all.I do find it annoying that they nerfed the drops on the high end gear components that it will cost ya a million per piece of gear with sublime aug.Lets face it,who has 8 million plat in the bank.So sony has created a REAL market for plat selling.

People have had the mind set that the cultural crafted is the best you can get and have driven up the price, once they realize that the tier 3 and 4 grp gear is alot better the prices will drop like a rock.
With $8.00 worth of plat, and no req level on the new jewelry slot augs, you can twink a brand new toon up to nub-god status. This I think is more likely to prompt people into buying plat.
I usually buy cultural armor to fill out my gear slots. The Exalted stuff is still really rare. It'll come down in price when there's more available.
