68 Monk trying to make 75++ Veterans Please Help = )Follow

Been playing since 1999. Recently came back from the on-and-off retirement. Gave up on my veteran TOV-pimped druid and created a monk who is now lvl 68. I finally got around to purchasing the last 5 expansions so I have some new ground to play on. I'm trying to level to at least 75 before I begin farming AAs.

With what I had to work with, my monk unbuffed is about
5khp 1400ac 1400atk
37% haste
weilding 21/20 and 19/21 weps

I'm trying to group and level as efficiently as possible. Given that I have no new flags/keys, I'm wondering what zones are best to try and group in for the quickest leveling.

HoH is boring me to death, WoS and MPG are fun but hard to find solid groups of people who still hunt there.

Where are the best zones to level from:

68-70?

70-75?

Mobs to solo AAs at 75?

75+?

Hehe, 2part post.. If my server is for some reason dead and I'm roaming on my 66 Druid, what are some good zones to farm/quad/solo in?

(And please, if there are any other posts that cover any of this, please refer them!)

Thanks a ton!

I'd strongly advise you against waiting to 75 for AAs. You will find yourself severely handicapped; you'll miss several very good utilities, and the defensive tricks that make monks one of the most powerful classes at the moment.

A lvl 75/no AAs character of any class is not worthless, but it's damned close.

68-70 MPG/RSS/Icefall

70-75 Valdeholm/Direwind (Ashengate/Frostcrypt)

75+ Loping Plains/Fortress Mechanotus/Hills of Shade/Bloodmoon keep (Steam Factory/S.H.I.P Workshop/Gyrospires Beza and Zeka)

Haven't tried Crystallos or Meldrath's Majestic Mansion.

Ones not in brackets would be with a lower standard of gear, with better gear can try the ones in brackets.

YCHIR's list is perfect.

There is no way in heck you can hunt in any of those zones without AA, though. If you never pull and never get hit it may be possible but as a Monk, you will be invited to groups to pull most of the time. And you will get hit.

You simply cannot pull RSS with no Run AAs as a Monk. The mobs run faster than characters.

by the time you hit 70, you should have all the monk specific aa's up to that point, at least the Pop defensives, and all the dps aa's available to that point. You are crippling yourself if you try to level to 75, and not get any aa's.

During the PoP era it mades sense to get many levels before AAs due to many zones having level requirements like BoT. You should have many AAs at your level. You are very gimp until you get them compared to 99% of the monks on your server most likely.

AAs are very important for all classes but pullers and tanks and melees really need them or they just end up being gimp. I strongly recommend that you stop leveling and get your AAs.
