Server with highest low-level population?Follow

#1 Nov 16 2007 at 6:01 PM Rating: Decent
Hey folks, I'm coming back after three years off, and hoo-boy has the game changed!

Spent the last month playing a slew of different classes to get a feel for which one I wanted to start fresh with, and to get used to the game a bit.

It's at the point now that I'm kinda done with playing alone everytime I log in, and would really like to start grouping with other players again.

Which servers have the highest low level population? Thinking lvls 10-65.

And which classes are in high demand for grouping in that level range? Necros? Shammies? Druid's? Chanters?

it's always been a safe bet for a tank monk or cleric, because of the fact group needs a tank, need a healer and a puller.

as for population, no idea i've been leveling an alt on the rathe recently and found if you stick to the hot zones you'll find people, give it a couple of weeks for the mains to get to 80 and i thin it'll stablize again for alts playing.

Ah hah, that's right. I totally spaced on the fact that new expansion + level cap increased to 80 = people playing their mains again.

New content and new levels to explore? Pssh! Why on EARTH would that mean that the 70+ online population just jumped up?

What?

avoid the necro all together
Necs are, for the most part, unarguebly, the most efficient soloers...at about any level.

chanters are pretty much useless in pugs.

join the Combine. its a progression server and there are a lot of lowbies and midlevellers playing. there's also a few midlevel guilds that don't raid and house a large portion of the low level players.
here's a tip, though - do not play a cleric. they're very common and often have trouble finding a group on this server. i'd say play a warrior, a monk or a shaman, since tanks are on the rarer side, monks make good pullers and grrrrrrreat DPS, and everyone loves a slower.

honestly, you could play whatever class you want and eventually make it to 60, but some will have more trouble grouping than others. joining a guild can help alleviate that problem, however.

I'm surprised how many newbies I'm seeing in Stromm (in Gloomingdeep Mines). But that other server the other person mentioned might be better.

Weird to hear about a server w/ too many clerics! That's got to be a first.

Necros are good soloers. A necro can find a group, especially if he or she learns to make friends - is social - is a good guildmate who contributes - etc.

My druid used to be a good soloer, too. If he could root it, he could kill it. I've played both, however, and necros do kill faster.

Don't forget Wizards; they at least always used to be wanted in groups. Soloing a wiz at least used to mean a lot of root bombing and a LOT of time gaining back mana (or begging chanters for mana-regen buffs). If you can get some money, gte SoW potions or some item that lets you run fast. Makes soloing safer and easier.

Bards seem to have been nerfed - no idea if they can solo well any more. But they, like Enchanters, were always wanted in groups.
