I see that clerics get a new aa at lvl 65. Its a rezz spell, it has a 12 second recast time. Thats all that it says. Any ideas as to what the low down on this aa is?

I've read it's to help those who can't complete the insanely hard epic 1.0, you know the one where you kill mobs that are around level 50. Seems silly to me as most of the new cleric AAs look like garbage and they wasted time making this one, but what can you do.

I know that in the cleric community there has been discussions/complaints that the cleric 1.0 is still a "required" piece of raiding gear even though it is nearly 8 years old. Now, my definition of "required" and your definition may vary, but many guilds still list the cleric 1.0 as a required item for application.

Yes, it is easy to get, but why should a class be tied to an 8 year old item.

I feel my water sprinkler tells/is a lot of things.

1. It tells everyone that I work well with others - if I did not then I would not have had enough people willing to help me get it.

2. It tells everyone that I am patient - it took a lot of time and effort to "earn" it.

3. It is an asset to a raid to have a click rez so wipe recovery is quicker - so I am/do more than just look at health bars and click CH or HoT or Quick Heal.

4. It is a "coming of age" item - I can play with the big boys now.

5. It is an item of honor that is also useful.

6. Lastly, I hate the idea of having to give up wearing it just so I can have a primary slot item that gives me better stats on it. I wish there was a line of quests I could do, like the "Lore Charm" (can't remember the name) that as I complete/get each item it raises the stats on my water sprinkler. Then I would not have to give up wearing my hard won epic 1.0 and continue to wear it proudly!!

I can see the benefit of having the AA. As others mentioned, it's nice to have an alternative to having to obtain, equip or continually requip an out-grown piece of gear for a single purpose.

At the same time, I'd question the reasoning behind raidguilds that 'require' this piece of gear for all clerics as there are better, more efficient ways to rez and mass rez at raids. I'd hope that lazy but naggy raid leaders where not the reason for the implementation of this AA.
