Worth start playing now? Story inside.Follow

Hello everyone, nice to meet you. I've been reading the Everquest boards for a few months now (!!) and I still do not play the game. Even worse is that I'm pretty much an MMO player, having played almost all of the (more famous) MMO's on the market. But not Everquest. I remember as a child, wayyy back then, I saw an Everquest case in a video game store. I wanted to play it, but my parents didn't have a credit card...
My question is, would it be wise, let alone 'possible' to start now, 7 years after it's release? I have never even tried EQ, but I did try EQ2 once. I'm playing WoW atm, but it misses the hardcore grinding I loved in Maple Story and Ragnarok Online.
Other than that, I can get the anniversairy edition for about 40$ and I play on euro times.
Please give me your suggestions guys, I'd love to,
Thanks in advance~~

I am looking for some people to play the game with! Would love to add you to the team, i also have played many many many of the other MMO's, jjust finished my BETA session with Warhammer online. Trialed EQ2, did the whole WoW thing, along with many others.

I would be completely new to this as well!

I like the game. I have been playing since about 2000 (have to look up my toons bday to know for sure). The game certainly has changed since then, but that is one of the benefits. The game is constantly changing, and keeping my interest. The amount of content is so large that you probably will have a hard time experiencing it all. Not gonna recommend any particular class or race to play since they all have their place in the game. I am on the Drinal Server and it seems to have a decent population, so you wont have any problems finding peeps to group with, and the number of guilds is decent as well, so you wont have any problems finding a good guild. It is also not so populous that you will find some of the more interesting areas crowded. Bottom line, lots of fun, some good people, and a good deal of content to keep you happy.
