First i would like to play on stromm, and if you are new feel free to join me!
I am new and just orded eq with all the expansions(Annv Ed) and i am just looking for other new people i could hang out with! The game should be arriving at my house around Tuesday Oct16, obviously i dont have a ingame name yet but if you would like to post your that would be great! Or if not feel free to email me at wjkattner[at]hotmail.com i am excited to play and hopefully all these people who are coming back to the game can meet up on one server! I think that would be really cool!
Also please if you arnt new or know somone who is new please direct them to this thread or my email!
My goal to gather some new people to all play on one sever!

just one general piece of advice, if you'd like to reduce SPAM and possible hack attempts: never post your email like below, always use "at" instead of @, like "name[ at ]domain.com" - better even is to tell them to PM (private message ) you...

P.S: there might be a few patches necessary, in order to upgrade your EQ version. I just hope you have DSL/Cabel ;)

I play on Stromm as well. I'm not new, but, I too will be happy to provide any assistance I can.
I think you're off to a smart start by finding some people to start out with.
If you've spent any time here reading up on the community, it should come as no surprise to learn that the low-level population is pretty slim. If you can find two or three 'regulars' to journey through some of EQ's earliest content with you'll have much more fun.

Thats what i am looking at playing, and also is there a class that would be better for it then others, maybe a class with a hidden bonus i dont know about? I have read that it is pretty easy to max stats out anyway, was just curious if maybe one class had speacial move or somthing that would be beneficial.

if Shammie, then Ogre. they can not be stunned from the front, which is one thing you will NEVER be able to get otherwise. clicky snares are nice too, but that means you have to create a troll... and to be honest, who wants to be a troll? ;o)

I think you mean rans not class for the shammy. It doesent really matter at all. Pick a race you can stand looking at for the next 75 levels =D Orge has no stun from the front abd troll and iskar have higher HP regen.
My Personal pref is the barb for a shammy. I love everfrost as a noobie area.

Shamans ROCK!!! glad to hear your considering it.
I made a barbarian Shaman beacasue i didnt want to be evil and didnt realize the benifits of the ogre/troll race.
The no stun bonus from ogres would definitly be useful becasue when u cast ur slows on a mob they do tend to come at u if the tank doesnt have aggro yet.
Also the clicky snare item u can get for be a troll (innoruk worshipper) makes soloing much easier. No need to root rot when u can Kite :-).
Shamans are looked for in groups alot in my experience, espcially at higher levels when mobs almost need to be slowed.
Also u can make good money selling the potions u can make with the alchemy tradeskill, or sitting in the GL selling ur buffs :-).

Oh man a troll? ogre? GROSS! I will have to see what the character models look like when i get the game installed! Was hopeing to hear somthing like Iskar! :P
Lol we will see, i might need to sacrifice the stun thing, even though that would be super cool, but i big ugly ogrE? Start to balance... is it worth it?

Ok i looked over the ogres in the trial, but i dont know if that is how they look after all the other expansions? If they look like they do in the trial, or better i will probably play one. Also getting really tired of this darn Cave in the trial lol!

Watch out for virus on university hook ups.
As far as graphics are concerned on ogre troll etc. Yes the luclin models are nice, I dont use them to cut down on my lag.

Bump, still looking for new people to join!
I would suggest trying to find a few people in real life you can talk into playing. It really is fun to have a substantial portion of your group in the room with you, and if you're on a decent sized campus you'll probably be able to find a few people who are already playing if you look.
