Want Epic 1.5 from 2.5Follow

#1 Oct 09 2007 at 7:46 PM Rating: Decent
I wish SOE to make the quested augs for 2.0s able to fuse with epic 1.0's as well. Cannot cause harm of any kind, and would require very little codework. Anyone else want to see this happen?

Huh, what? What quested augs? Cipher of Veeshan? BiC? They can fit in any epic. If you mean the type 30 for the 2.5 epics, what is the point of making them available for 1.0? to make them a 1.25 or something? I see no point.

I also see no point. If you can get the 2.5 aug, you can easily get the 2.0 to aug it to. Why would you want to put something that great in a pos 1.0 for? And if you just want a better 1.0, lots of dmg augs out there way easier to get than the 2.5 aug. And again, even on the other dmg augs, why put it in a 1.0, when you could obviously get a better weapon to put in.

dr00d 2.0 is ugly (just like the others), and nothing will ever beat the leafblower for graphics. Yes, obviously 2.0 has better stats, which is precisely why I am calling for the augs to have expanded compatability. If I choose to wield my 1.0 for roleplaying or nostalgia purposes, I see no reason why I shouldnt be able to increase its power after all this time... maybe implement a fabled epic 1.0 quest, or a BiC style quested aug that is epic restrictive.

I dont expect everyone to understand why I want this, but if there is anyone who has a 1.0 in a bag that they like the lore or graphics of more than their 2.0... wouldnt you like to have that option?

Yes there are reasons not to keep your 1.0, reasons it is illogical. But please, if you can, provide one good reason why we should not be given the option.

I think that would have to be an awful low priority considering as long as the stats were worse than a 2.0-2.5 epic no one would really want to have the thing equipped unless they were standing around not doing anything in the way of fighting.

but thats like saying, i like the fine steel sword graphics and asking to put a top end aug in it, its useless!

sure you may like the graphics, but do you really play this game for the graphics?

Well, if that's the best reason you have I'd rather not see what precious little resources the EQ Developer Team have wasted on it.

One suggestion you could make is that you can choose which epic APPEARS... but you're still wearing it the one you have... dunno.

Open to all options, and have posted about that very idea before. I know stating that graphics can outweigh stats will always get flamed, but every so often I feel compelled to get/create information on the idea.

Oh well, maybe next LoN expansion they will give a loot card container that swaps item graphics ;p

I could go with swapping graphics, and that actually seems easier to implement, and no need in changing items and aug slots on items, etc.

A possible way to do it with the LoN suggestion is with a clicky that changes the appearance of weapons to epic 1.0 while the illusion buff is on.

I think about it from my warrior's perspective:

I WISH MY EFFIN' LIGHTSABERS (which look so bloody awesome!)
WERE EFFIN' USEFUL!!! All that time, and I use them for people to go "oooooh, SHINY" at and put them away for actual beatings. Not being a powergamer, I can understand the "quit wasting developer time on anything but us high-end people, n00bz suxxorz" mentality, keep in mind, not everyone here is playing so they can be "teh uberz".

I dont even have my 1.5 yet, but I really think what was suggested is a waste of time, so no, not everyone is coming from an "uber" point of view.
