I want to buy Everquest but I cannot play on line. Can I play Everquest by my self as a stand alone game? Or should I move on to a different game? TIA

No, it's online only. Things such as monster location, loot tables, etc are housed on Sony's servers.

That's online as well.

Oops. You probably meant Champions of Norrath. That's offline for the PS2 but I have no idea what the gameplay is like.

If any of you played Baldur's Gate on GameCube or PS2 a couple years ago: that's exactly what Champions of Norrath is like.

It's a Bird's Eye view, hack-n-slash, which throws in little elements of rpg, like being able to choose which abilities you want to spend your level points on each level. But that's about it.

When I got my PS2, I bought it thinking it was EQ Online Adventures, because it said "online" on the box (and I couldn't remember tha actual name of EQOA). But what that means is you can connect with others and play a 2-player game by cooperating with someone online.

When I played Baldur's gate a couple years ago, I loved it. It was fun, the story was entertaining, and the replay was pretty good. But after all the games that came out with the exact same game engine (Legends of X-Men 1 and 2, Fantastic4, Marvel Ultimate Alliance), by the time I played CoN I was bored to death of that gameplay, and I think I only got about 4 levels in.

I think my 10-year old beat it tho (just like he beat all those other games, lol).
