one were to get this game for $5 used at EBgames, would one have to purchase the expansions separate, or would those be included in a 300 year download with the purchase of an account?

Inquiring minds need to know.

Not sure why exactly you would buy a used copy of the game? I'm certain the cd key would be claimed already which makes it rather worthless in almost any case.

Every single expansion up to what is for the moment, the newest one, can be purchased for digital download from the everquest site, the price is $20.

Saeel is correct about the account key, but IIRC you played EQ way back in the day and should have you old account name and PW.

Depending on the version of EQ you buy ( just the orginal, trigloy, ect..) there will be some downloading. With the anniversity ( newest ) I had a 3-4 hour DL on broadand.

The Anniversary Edition gives you ALL expansions that are currently out for twenty bucks. I think you'd even get a 30 free subscription if you opened a new account with it.

I've heard that some game stores have even had it on sale for half the price.

I wanted to come back to EQ after a 3 yr absence and found the EQ Anniversary Edition on Amazon.com which I ordered. Within a week I was playing EQ with all 13 expansions loaded. Keep in mind, there have been lots of cool changes and such so it will take you about a week to get comfy with the game again.

The Anniversary Edition was a very smart thing for EQ to do. I had wanted to come back to the game but just didn't have the coin to purchase the 5 or 6 expansions I had missed.

Good Luck! and have fun!

Look fast. They're out of print, so the longer you wait the harder it'll be to get your hands on a copy. I know that I had to have the local game store call check their database for other stores with it in stock and found one about 30 minutes drive away that had *one* left.

Digital download takes about 5 - 6 hours on a decent connection.

PM me.

my download after doing a complete fresh install of EQanniversary was only 20 minutes or so. I may be wrong, but I think the next expansion coming out will have the previous expansions and the new expansion all bundled together for around $40US. Since it's so close to the release date, you might want to wait until that's released and get the new expansion, too.

The only expansions I have CD-wise are PoP and Luclin, so the others that downloaded only took me a total of 2 hours... it's really not that slow.
